This is an exciting entry level role with fantastic opportunities for growth and development Candidates who have Finite Element knowledge either from university or industry will be considered. Ideal candidates will also have knowledge of ANSYS or MathCAD. You will execute stress analysis projects independently for Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electrically actuated components using Classical/Semi-empirical hand calculations & FE Analysis.Responsibilities: Work as part of a team, often deployed to a multidisciplinary project that ensures structural integrity of a product. Perform static stress calculations to assess design solutions for a whole range of tasks ranging from concept design through to detailed design drawings. Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis when required to ensure product structural integrity. Perform FE Analysis work and ensure the quality of the analysis is in accordance with customer and internal requirements. Liaise with other functions and projects to ensure all stress requirements (including certification, strength, stiffness, durability, maintainability and reliability) are fully defined and integrated for any task undertaken. Assist in the Structural design process to help ensure optimised design quality. Report critical technical issues up through functional management. When instructed, support on-going continuous improvement initiatives.Key Requirements: Ideal candidates will have experience of working as a stress engineer involved in the analysis of hydraulic vessels and mechanisms using a range of standard hand and computer methods. An ability to carry out analysis on new and existing projects using traditional and finite element methods utilising ANSYS and MathCAD. The ability to assess structural problems under pressure and to work with other team members. An ability to confidently undertake aircraft stress calculations, and produce clear, concise reports and other documentation, of appropriate quality.Desired Characteristics: Preferably an Aeronautical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent. Experience of performing stress analysis calculations.
