Discover your future! Background Performance Development (PD) drives business performance improvement projects for divisions and business units across the EK group. It is also responsible for Long term manpower planning and the Najm staff recognition scheme. The job holder will be a major contributor to the success of these projects and functions in support of the organisation?s profitable expansion The Position: The main focus of this role will be the successful delivery of world class business improvement services across the support departments in line with the strategy set by the Presidents. This will be achieved through the engagement and influencing of clients at SVP level and above, the design and delivery of strategic programmes and projects, the development of long term business plans and by the review of business proposals. Additionally you will be the centre of excellence with a specific focus on business planning and you will run the Najm staff recognition scheme Key Accountabilities: In this role you will be required to: Enable business leaders of a portfolio of support department accounts to deliver exceptional performance through defining and delivery of strategic planning and work packages. Define, drive and deliver cross departmental / functional, change management projects or programmes, successfully influencing the stakeholders of the different business units to deliver sustainable change. Be accountable for the definition and implementation of a long term manpower plan for the client departments aligning them to the Corporate Intentions and short and long term business objectives. Review and input to the detailed annual manpower planning budget process to meet corporate goals and to ensure alignment with the macro rolling three year planning process executed with the business leaders. You will also be responsible for the consolidation of the plan at a group level. Partner with the business support departments like HR, Finance, IT and internal PD teams to raise service level and quality of support services provided. Take complete ownership for delivery of the work programme from PD and ensure that the projects address their primary goals, are delivered within agreed cost, timescales and to customer satisfaction. Review business cases for all key investments to ensure that return on investment is being realised. Develop a range of value added services sourcing training and material to ensure PD stays in line or ahead of world class business improvement/consultancy skills. Enable the transfer of these skills across the business through research and creation of PD?s Knowledge Centre and ?Communities of Interest?, developing technical skills and through appropriate input into ELDP and ELDP Alumni projects. All with a specific focus on your defined technical skills area of Business planning and research. Accountable for the delivery, leadership and management of direct reports and team through budget management development plans, training and appropriate mentoring, as well as coaching and motivation. Conduct timely annual and interim performance reviews and set SMART objectives to cultivate a culture of high performance. Encourage and ensure the team develops requisite levels of client domain and industry knowledge, is abreast with state of art tools and techniques and consulting skills in order to add value to the business and enhance relationships. Ensure rounded understanding of financial, operational, customer, people and IT issues being faced. Contribute to the prioritisation of workload, motivation and development of staff, and cross functional leadership to ensure the delivery of the PD vision, mission and values. Translating strategic conversations with Group business leaders (typically SVPs, DSVP, EVPs) into prioritised work packages. Ensure that Intellectual Property Rights are protected for proof-of-concepts developed specifically to support a strategic programme of work invested in by the Emirates Group, and that appropriate commercial terms are agreed upon the transferring of IP to a participating business. Business Planning and Group Support: Deliver a long term manpower planning framework to be used across the business and, in coordination with other support departments, to enable a comprehensive approach to long term business planning and business management. Lead the centre of excellence to provide services on business modelling through proof-of-concept processes, simulation, scenario planning, visualisation and usability studies. Lead and facilitate the Najm Programme, so that the programme can achieve an average minimum saving of AED5m p.a and continue to develop as a world class staff reward and recognition programme. Experience and Qualifications: In order to apply for this role you must have the following: Qualifications: Graduate. Post Graduate or MBA preferred. Experience: 10 year's experience of business consultancy in operational and supporting areas within a management consulting firm or heading an internal consulting unit in a major industrial or commercial organisation. Specific experience in Business planning and research. Knowledge/skills: Clear communication skills, written and verbal. Experience of working in a multi-cultural expatriate environment. Ability to be strategically focused in aligning business initiatives to corporate objectives. Ability to think and work in a structured manner. A balance of assertiveness and persistence with patience and diplomacy. Ability to manage and organise resources so that they are aligned to enable a quick turnaround of projects. Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access). Technical Capabilities High level (mastery) of Planning and research techniques High level (mastery) of Business planning and research in addition to project and programme management. Advanced knowledge of process engineering, Organisation design and development, innovation techniques and Business planning and research or customer experience management. In this role you will be a key enabler in creating organisational direction for the specified accounts, therefore we are looking for someone that has: A mind-set that integrates rational ideals with political reality and he/she must have expertise which can help understand why results are happening in the organisation, not just what is happening. Experience of working in a multi-cultural expatriate environment and building relationships across and outside the portfolio being managed. Ability to be strategically focused in aligning business initiatives to corporate objectives. A balance of assertiveness and persistence with patience and diplomacy couples with strong influential skills. Ability to manage and organise resources so that they are aligned to enable a quick turnaround of projects. Salary & Benefits: We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund and it has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1="Dh3.66."
