Summary:The Sales Support Manager for Power demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.Responsibilities: *Play an integral part in defining the go-forward approach for sales support processes as the Company targets growth *Work with customers and sales teams to identify opportunities and understand customer Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements *Define bid / no-bid requirements and supporting strategies for assigned product and market segments *Work with product groups, supply chain, tools team and others to compile cost data, reliability data, and market price comparisons to generate pricing options *Work with sales, product groups, tools team and customer service agreement managers to define and implement deal models *Complete financial models based on cost, investment and sales projections for opportunities *Lead deal team reviews to ensure deals are in alignment with product and customer strategies for the business. Make recommendations to senior management for approval of business cases *Work with contracts to define proposal wording, Ts & Cs and submit proposals to customers *Lead business elements of customer negotiations. Support contract negotiations *Ensure flow-down of requirements for new business to the rest of the organization: forecasting, supply chain, engineering, customer service, etc. *Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base *Work with Marketing to develop project specific sales strategies for assigned customers and products and identify recommendations for continued growth *Provide support to program managers assigned to work customer opportunities, both development and ongoing production / service requirements *Develop and maintain effective customer organization and contact lists (Purchasing, Engineering, Program Management, etc.) *Participate in product development planning to ensure aftermarket and services requirements are incorporated into product life cycle planningKey Requirements: *Bachelor's Degree or similar level of knowledge and experience *Demonstrable experience in a marketing, contracts, sales or engineering positionDesired Characteristics: *Knowledge of the aviation industry, power, avionics and/or mechanical equipment *Prior sales experience and knowledge of aviation products and markets *Formal negotiation skills training *Commercial contract development and negotiation experience *Strong oral and written communication skills *Strong interpersonal and leadership skills *Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Access Database experience *Experience modelling business cases and formulating business plans
