Food Point is a subsidiary business of Emirates Flight Catering. Food Point is a 10,000 square metre ready meals, HACCP accredited facility in Dubai, supplying several key customers (airline, retail & food service) in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and North Africa with ready meals, sauces & soups. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include: Upscale and launch products into the factory and execute cost saving projects. Managing a small team, enforcing New Product Development (NPD) processes & procedures with regards to trial management, process development, yield analysis, product launches and continuous improvement projects Accurate and timely data capturing for the purpose of weekly and monthly reports containing analytical evaluation and trends of trials, launches, cost savings, yields and process improvements. Continually review, analyze and improve yields of raw materials, products, processes and equipment in order to reduce costs and to ensure margins remain unaffected. Process improvement of daily operations: investigate and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment by conducting regular reviews and thus obtaining qualitative and quantitative information in order to take calculated risks to implement and improve existing processes Initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects. Participate in recipe development from raw ingredients to the processed food state. Advise on processing and packaging operations Assist in product shelf-life & sensory testing: i.e. develop / conduct testing methods for sensory analysis: flavour, texture, colour and nutritional content in order to monitor product quality Trace process-related problems to their root cause in order to devise the best solution. Assess the technical feasibility from a new product & equipment standpoint and identification of process related issues Experience and Qualifications: Food related degree / qualification. Solid grounding in the use of Food Science or related discipline and relevant experience within a food manufacturing, preferably chilled or frozen, environment. Good computer skills essential. Sound understanding and excellent working knowledge of implementing and maintaining NPD processes and procedures ensuring successful launch of new products into the factory - with strong emphasis on process development.
