Requirement:* Write the PIC (or FPGA) code for the sensor processor card to the specified functional and performance requirements. * Work closely with Engineer 1 to understand the specific architecture of the programmable device and to agree the use of in-built peripheral devices and functions.* Work closely with the Shore Equipment Software Engineer to understand the data format and data delivery requirements.* Design in Built-in-Test and monitoring functions* Produce design proving code and deliver test results* Produce software documentation Competence, skills and experience:Essential:* C programming for microcontroller or VHDL for FPGA, depending on the design solution.* Software documentationDesirable:* Able to work with a minimum level of management* Good standard of documentation* Attention to detail* Used to working to set timescale and budget
