<img src="http://counter.adcourier.com/ZmlvbmEuaGVuZHJ5LjQ5MTA2LjQyNEBlbGFuaXQuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif" /><br />Obsolescence Engineering Manager/ Project Manager/ Team Leader ( Electronics, Hardware, Design, Aerospace) is responsible for guiding the business on the best components to deliver future-proof, robust and low-cost customer solutions. <br />A critical responsibility is management of component obsolescence, an area that represents a significant risk to our ability to support customers and deliver business cases. <br />To deliver a step change in obsolescence management performance, we require a high calibre individual to head up a new obsolescence management team. <br /> <br />Responsibilities: <br />*Lead a multi-disciplined team to deliver obsolescence solutions that eliminate risk to customers, production and aftermarket operations. <br />*Programme manage all open obsolescence issues to closure, ensuring "future-proof" solutions are adopted <br />*Lead continuous improvement of the obsolescence process, focusing on cycle time in particular. <br />*Own the budget for obsolescence management and deliver solutions within it. <br />*Contribute to business and product strategy in areas influenced by obsolescence. <br />*Generate metrics by which obsolescence performance can be measured, to drive team performance, facilitate improvement and communicate performance to the business. <br />*Interface with external customers on obsolescence issues. <br />*Engage and manage external resource providers for obsolescence services. <br /> <br />Requirements: <br />*BSc/BEng in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent level of knowledge or experience together with demonstrable experience in an engineering role. <br />*Experience in electronics hardware design. <br /> <br />Characteristics: <br />*Experience of obsolescence management for electronic components, component selection, materials selection and C-class parts and consumables management. <br />*Knowledge of engineering, procurement and quality process <br />*Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects <br />*Strong oral and written communication skills <br />*Strong interpersonal and leadership skills <br />*Effective problem solving skills <br />*Ability to influence at all levels in the organisation <br />*LSS Green belt qualified <br /> <br />We offer: <br />*Exciting and a variety of leading edge technology. <br />*Good opportunities for career development, regular reviews and career planning. <br />*Pension scheme. <br />*Excellent Relocation Package. <br />*Share Option Scheme <br />*Good location and working environment. <br /> <br />Successful applicants will be required to obtain UK MOD security clearance prior to appointment. <br /> <br />
