Engineering Project Manager (A350 Droop Ribs/Mechanical)

Working with cross functional groups comprising of UK, India and Poland based Engineering teams as well as sub tier suppliers based in the UK and Europe, you will lead and co-ordinate the work carried out to ensure successful delivery of a technically sound set of parts on time and within cost. <br /> <br />Responsibilities: <br />* Provide leadership on assigned project to ensure financial and contractual execution through established company procedures <br />* Deliver professional, high quality results to customers <br />* Support project proposal development including scope definition, configuration, implementation, tracking and control of projects <br />* Estimate budgets and track costs of projects, and be accountable for meeting project budget targets <br />* Lead multi-disciplinary project team including coaching and technical direction to meet project deliverables <br />* Develop scope-of-work specifications including those of contractors / subcontractors where appropriate <br />* Work closely with other functions including program management, supply chain and sourcing to create a coherent and deliverable product <br />* Provide regular updates to project owners, internal and external customers <br />* Facilitate the development of standards of technical excellence throughout internal and external engineering teams <br />* Drive execution and a focus on on-time delivery <br /> <br />Requirements: <br />* Bachelor's degree Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or prior work experience <br />* Significant experience in a project management or project leadership position <br />* Strong knowledge of mechanical design procedures <br />* Ability to apply managerial and leadership concepts and techniques (plan, execute, direct, coach, mentor, evaluate, and control) in executing individual and team priorities <br />* Willingness and ability to travel at least 25% of the time <br /> <br />Characteristics: <br />* Demonstrated competency in using standard project management tools <br />* Ability to apply advanced aspects of the engineering field and quality assurance concepts to solve practical business problems <br />* Strong oral and written communication skills <br />* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills <br />* Ability to successfully lead a team in a highly matrixed environment <br />* Ability to coordinate several project demands simultaneously <br />* Proven analytical and organizational ability <br />* Capable of developing and writing specifications in an engineering environment <br />* Strong quality mindset <br />* Six Sigma Green Belt certification <br />* Knowledge of composite or aerostructures design <br /> <br />Benefits Include: <br />*Good Opportunities for Career Development, Regular Reviews and Career Planning. <br />*Excellent Relocation Package. <br />*Share Option Scheme <br />*Flexible Benefits <br />*Good Location and Working Environment. <br /> <br />Successful applicants will be required to obtain UK MOD security clearance prior to appointment. <br /> <br />
