Discover your future! <br /> <br /><b>The Position:</b> </p><p>We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Engineer to join a team of dynamic professionals engaged in the delivery and support of J2EE technologies. <br />You will be expected to design, implement, maintain and provide support and expertise on Weblogic, Jboss and Apache and related J2EE technologies. The job involves 3rd level support and off hours support for production environments. <br />In depth technical acumen is a key component of this role, this linked with Project Management experience means that this role is a one-stop-shop for delivering Infrastructure solutions to the group. The person selected for this role will also be expected to have a firm grasp on security issues, user friendliness of solutions implemented, and be able to articulate solutions verbally and in written form. <br /> <br /><b>Key responsibilities: <br /></b> <br />? Provide expert technical consultancy and guidance to EG-IT within the technology area and act as lead technical member in the project team delivering the work packages assigned. </p><p> <br />? Develop IT Solutions that meet customer requirements. Ensure that the design is robust, appropriate and of high quality and conforming to Corporate standards and in line with the technology strategy. </p><p> <br />? Ensure that the developed architecture/solution meets the service level requirements in terms of expected availability, capacity, continuity, security, performance and reliability. </p><p> <br />? Collaborate with other EG-IT technology teams to implement ongoing monitoring of the relevant technology to ensure severity 1 & 2 Incidents are configured within EMS. </p><p> <br />? Collaborate with EG-IT to identify and define standards and metrics on the relevant technology. Monitor current performance and to ensure appropriate levels of capacity, quality, service level and resources and solutions are optimally tuned. </p><p> <br />? Provide guidance to project managers / technology team managers for solution definition, technical design and development of in house developed solutions. These are to be delivered as per agreed costs and timescales to meet signed off functional, technical and process requirements. </p><p> <br />? Ensure that assigned problems are defined and analyzed in line with the Problem Management process. Ensure that solutions to problems meet the architectural and security standards within the technology area and impact to the business is minimised. </p><p> <br />? Ensure that assigned incidents are resolved within the agreed SLA?s and where applicable, workarounds are provided to minimise business impact and own & manage changes within the technology area to ensure least impact on the business. </p><p> <br />? Publish and maintain high quality documentation for technology area. Working within the standard templates and documentation guidelines which include detailed design, configuration details, support procedures, operations manuals and deployment architecture. </p><p> <br />? Manage End of Life replacement of equipment and/or software within the technology area to ensure conformance to technical standards and support technology initiatives and directions. <br /> <br /> <br /><b>Salary & Benefits:</b> </p><p>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. It has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1= Dh3.66. A degree in Computers/ Electronics from a recognized university with a minimum of 8 years experience in the IT industry, of which 5 years should be in the areas of implementation and deployment of complex J2EE related projects. </p><p> <br />? Sound knowledge of Java, J2EE, JNDI (Java Naming and Directory Interface), JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) Servlets and JSP (Java Server Pages), JCA (J2EE Connector Architecture). </p><p> <br />? Skilled administration of Web Logic, JBOSS, JBOSS ESB, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Apache. </p><p> <br />?
