<p>Our Customer is a world leader in manufacturing composite &amp; metallic components for the Aerospace industry with and unrivalled reach into both civil and military aircraft projects.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>They are seeking to appoint an Additive Manufacturing Specialist to their operation in the South West region of the UK.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b><u>ROLE PURPOSE / SCOPE</u></b></p> <p>This is a role for a candidate with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Additive Manufacturing (AM). Ideally knowledgeable about the whole value chain for at least one AM process (SLM, EBM, LENS etc.), from materials through to design and part testing; the successful applicant will be responsible for contributing AM experience to the realisation of Quality procedures for the AM production of aerospace components. Implementing systems of work and being directly responsible for different AM processes will be a challenge when undertaking this work. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a key cross-functional role in bringing AM knowledge and expertise to bear across the teams&rsquo; activity in component materials, design, analysis and testing. Learning and running and possibly helping with the design of new AM processes will also feature in this role.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b><u>RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE</u></b></p> <ul> <li>Major contribution to the creation of new Quality procedures for AM processes</li> <li>Provision of process expertise in support of design, analysis and testing activities</li> <li>Responsibility for and oversight of AM machines and component post-processing</li> <li>Contribution to the design of new AM processes and techniques</li> <li>Learning / developing novel aerospace design approaches</li> <li>Regular technical meetings with other members of the project</li> <li>Compilation of technical reports containing the findings of technical investigation</li> <li>Presentation of results at all levels internal and external to the company <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b><u>REQUIREMENTS</u></b></p> </li> <li>Degree-qualified (or equivalent) Additive Manufacturing process expert</li> <li>Aerospace experience not essential but would be an advantage &ndash; e.g. structures / engines</li> <li>Proven track record in coordinating AM processes and implementation of AM</li> <li>Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving</li> <li>Experienced team-worker</li> <li>Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to colleagues and collaborators <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b><u>ADDITIONAL SKILLS</u></b></p> </li> <li>Knowledge or experience of AS/EN9100 standards would be an advantage</li> <li>Experience of research and development would be welcome <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>An attractive annual salary will be awarded to the successful applicant.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Contact Simon Portway for full details.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><i>Only candidates with the right to live and work in the EU will be considered. </i></p> <p><i>Regrettably only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.</i></p> </li> </ul>
