<p>Our client, who provides a&nbsp; wide range of Aircraft Component Services is currently seeking a purchasing manager for their office based in the South East of England.</p> <p><br /> Function</p> <p>&bull;&nbsp;To develop and implement procurement strategy and policies.&nbsp; <br /> &bull;&nbsp;To oversee all procurement in support of the company's&nbsp;services and customers ensuring value, quality and performance. <br /> &bull;&nbsp;To manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships. <br /> &bull;&nbsp;To manage inventory to meet all business requirements, including identification of surplus stock for disposal. <br /> &bull;&nbsp;To ensure all Purchasing personnel are trained, supported and work within the guidelines of the department and to company requirements.</p> <p><br /> Responsibilities</p> <p>&bull;&nbsp;Manage and develop the Purchasing function <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Evaluate and select suppliers to Quality and Industry approved standards <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Negotiate contracts and formulate policies with suppliers<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Manage vendor performance for value, delivery, reliability, compliance and service<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Develop business opportunities with suppliers<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Evaluate RFP&rsquo;s and Inventory packages and prepare bids<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Organise and attend supplier meetings including travel to supplier sites as required<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Manage, train and develop the Purchasing Team<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Develop expertise to support growth for new projects <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Manage inventory to meet all business requirements, identify surplus stock<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Monitor market trends and developments to ensure&nbsp;the company's&nbsp;stock portfolio is kept up to date and as profitable as possible<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Control costs and Purchasing Department budget<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Liaise and work with Directors and Management team to develop and grow the company&nbsp;business <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Attend monthly management meetings<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Maintain accurate procedures and processes within the Purchasing Department to ensure continued process improvement, accuracy and efficiency<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Create and implement KPI&rsquo;s<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ensure compliance with both internal and external legislative and regulatory requirements <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Assist Director of Asset Management and undertake other duties as required</p> <p><br /> Required skills</p> <p>&bull;&nbsp;Expertise in Inventory Management and Procurement<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Comprehensive understanding of Aircraft Components<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Excellent negotiation skills with proven financial achievements<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Decision maker with problem solving ability <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Good organisation and management skills<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ability to motivate, train and develop staff<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Excellent communication skills at all levels<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ability to prioritise and manage workloads<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Numerate, accurate with ability to meet deadlines<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ability to work under pressure <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Excellent IT skills</p> <p><br /> If you are a highly skilled individual who enjoys working within purchasing,&nbsp; then this could be an ideal opportunity for you to join a well respected company.</p> <p>For further information, please submit a copy of your latest CV in confidence to <a href="mailto:ben@luap.com">ben@luap.com</a> or to discuss further please call +44(0)1403 217688</p>
