<p>Our client, who provides a wide range of Aircraft Component Services is currently seeking a purchasing manager for their office based in the South East of England.</p> <p><br /> Function</p> <p>• To develop and implement procurement strategy and policies. <br /> • To oversee all procurement in support of the company's services and customers ensuring value, quality and performance. <br /> • To manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships. <br /> • To manage inventory to meet all business requirements, including identification of surplus stock for disposal. <br /> • To ensure all Purchasing personnel are trained, supported and work within the guidelines of the department and to company requirements.</p> <p><br /> Responsibilities</p> <p>• Manage and develop the Purchasing function <br /> • Evaluate and select suppliers to Quality and Industry approved standards <br /> • Negotiate contracts and formulate policies with suppliers<br /> • Manage vendor performance for value, delivery, reliability, compliance and service<br /> • Develop business opportunities with suppliers<br /> • Evaluate RFP’s and Inventory packages and prepare bids<br /> • Organise and attend supplier meetings including travel to supplier sites as required<br /> • Manage, train and develop the Purchasing Team<br /> • Develop expertise to support growth for new projects <br /> • Manage inventory to meet all business requirements, identify surplus stock<br /> • Monitor market trends and developments to ensure the company's stock portfolio is kept up to date and as profitable as possible<br /> • Control costs and Purchasing Department budget<br /> • Liaise and work with Directors and Management team to develop and grow the company business <br /> • Attend monthly management meetings<br /> • Maintain accurate procedures and processes within the Purchasing Department to ensure continued process improvement, accuracy and efficiency<br /> • Create and implement KPI’s<br /> • Ensure compliance with both internal and external legislative and regulatory requirements <br /> • Assist Director of Asset Management and undertake other duties as required</p> <p><br /> Required skills</p> <p>• Expertise in Inventory Management and Procurement<br /> • Comprehensive understanding of Aircraft Components<br /> • Excellent negotiation skills with proven financial achievements<br /> • Decision maker with problem solving ability <br /> • Good organisation and management skills<br /> • Ability to motivate, train and develop staff<br /> • Excellent communication skills at all levels<br /> • Ability to prioritise and manage workloads<br /> • Numerate, accurate with ability to meet deadlines<br /> • Ability to work under pressure <br /> • Excellent IT skills</p> <p><br /> If you are a highly skilled individual who enjoys working within purchasing, then this could be an ideal opportunity for you to join a well respected company.</p> <p>For further information, please submit a copy of your latest CV in confidence to <a href="mailto:ben@luap.com">ben@luap.com</a> or to discuss further please call +44(0)1403 217688</p>
