<p>Our client in Co Down, Northern Ireland requires an experienced Flammability Engineer to join their Aircraft Composites Division. KEY PUPPOSE:Responsible for all technical areas of flammability which relate to design, manufacture and testing of all composite components.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:&bull; Qualification and implementation of new materials for use in composite materials which advance the state of the art in relation to flammability performance.&bull; Develop the current understanding of flammability certification, documentation and requirements and through liaison with the Certification team assist in the development of flammability test plans. &bull; Work alongside the Composite Engineers to ensure the design and manufacture of new products meet and exceed all required flammability regulations.&bull; Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Composite Design Team and other multi-disciplinary teams across the facility in all flammability related material matters.&bull; Maintaining and updating materials registers and specs.&bull; Contributing to culture of continuous improvement within the unit.THE PERSONKey Attributes&bull; Technical Expertise; the ability to develop and provide guidance and advice in the area of technical responsibility. &bull; Results Orientation; the ability to effectively analyse data, identify issues, find solutions and deliver results in line with changing business requirements.&bull; Judgement and Decision Making; ability to accurately and effectively review options and make the correct decision based on available information.&bull; Project Management; ability to initiate, develop and manage the implementation of new materials while meeting project schedules.&bull; Lead, develop and motivate the team to deliver results within the policies and procedures of the organisation.&bull; Excellent communication skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels in order to ensure business objectives are met.&bull; Team working; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually or as part of a team and ensure diversity is valued.ESSENTIAL CRITERIA&bull; 3rd level qualification in Materials, Chemistry, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or related.DESIRABLE CRITERIA&bull; One years relevant working experience in the areas of composites, chemistry, materials or engineering.&bull; One years project management experience from initial research to implementation.&bull; One years relevant experience of composite materials, manufacturing techniques, testing standards and data analysis.&bull; One years experience of certification in an aerospace environment.EU Member Citizens - Must have the right to legally work in UK.</p>
