Discover your future!<b> <br /> <br />The Position:</b> Manage the business aspect of research and development activities for the Commercial Systems portfolio and innovate new work processes, interfaces and reports to ensure maximization of revenue opportunities by all the Route areas. In conjunction with EGIT design and develop specifications, conduct acceptance testing, provide user training and operationalize new systems in the most efficient and cost effective manner and work with EGIT to develop a strategy for data warehousing solutions for Senior management reporting, revenue opportunities, revenue protection and revenue integrity, as per the business objectives. <br /> <br /><b>Job Purpose: </b> </p><ul> <li>Work in conjunction with EGIT to perform research and design on implementing state-of-art Revenue Management methodologies used in airlines and other related industries to drive significant incremental revenue for Emirates. Through careful innovation, work with EGIT to adapt the Revenue Forecasting, Revenue Planning and Revenue Optimization systems to evolving business processes and network growth at Emirates. </li><li>Envisage, adapt and evolve the business processes, revenue data and systems usage in the YM department. Ensure that the business processes and systems operate in tandem to maximize revenue opportunities for Emirates. Support Senior Management, YM route managers and route area teams as well as other departmental needs around revenue optimization. Run analytics for various what-if scenarios, business contingencies, and impact analyses and reacting to unanticipated business conditions ensuring timely decision-making leading to quantum revenue gains and cost savings for the business. </li><li>Forecast the Revenue, Yield, Seat Factor and Passenger volumes for future time horizons along different network dimensions. Analyse the forecast error, by using historical and current data using business modelling techniques, 'what if' scenarios and fine tune the system parameters to enhance the forecast accuracy. This function is important as accurate passenger and revenue forecasts are crucial to commercial decision-making and feed critical financial systems in the company. </li><li>Execute the optimisation process of the Company's revenue plan through the Revenue Planning System by formulating the capacity constraint equations using statistical methods to generate optimal passenger revenue Targets for the entire Commercial department. </li><li>Audit the functioning and usage of existing systems to identify any shortfalls and providing training to users to ensure maximum utilisation of the systems. Design business specifications for new system enhancements through a cross-functional steering group. Ensure data and process consistency with other commercial systems. Conduct internal surveys of various commercial systems and benchmark EK practices against other airlines for implementing best practices, drive efficiency and to be cost effective. </li><li>Manage the day to day business system administration of revenue management systems (PROS, PROMIS, SPACE, PROFIT, GRMS, GYM, GPAS) through System Superintendents to ensure that systems are tuned to make the correct decisions to optimise the revenue of Emirates. Ensure that the system parameters and filters of commercial systems (CView, MIDT, TARGET.COM) are in line with the changing business requirements. </li><li>Execute 'make vs. buy' analyses for new development. Evaluate new systems available through external vendors for suitability of implementing in-house to provide the best cost effective commercial decision support systems to Emirates. Support EGIT in the systems development process and conduct user acceptance testing on new systems and new releases to ensure that the systems meet the business requirements. </li><li>Monitor Revenue Plan through Target.Com based on the forward bookings and provide timely reports to senior commercial audience and world-wide sales force. Create alerts and exceptions reports for timely market interventions by Sales, Pricing and YM teams. </li><li>Identify the user training requirements for new and existing systems and co-ordinate/support the training department in delivering the training ('train the trainers'). Design and conduct training programs for the RO department as well as larger Commercial teams to enable them to extract maximum benefits out of the systems. Document all systems development and user manuals/online help as applicable. </li> </ul> <p><b>Salary & Benefits: </b>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund and it has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1="Dh3.66." By viewing the 'Dubai Lifestyle' section in the careers website you can also consider the many benefits of Dubai as a location to live and work in <br /> <br /><b>Experience and Qualifications:</b> </p><p><b>Qualifications:</b> </p><ul> <li>Degree or Honours (12 3) or equivalent.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with strong background in mathematics. </li><li>Master's degree in Computer Science, O.R. or M.B.A. preferred. </li> </ul> <p><b>Experience: </b> </p><ul> <li>8 years. </li><li>Experienced in the field of Information technology / Revenue management / Commercial Forecasting within an airline environment. </li> </ul> <p><b>Knowledge/skills: </b> </p><ul> <li>Knowledge of revenue management methodologies, applied operations research and statistical analysis. </li><li>Must be experienced in implementing major IT systems from user perspective, preferably in the areas of Inventory control and Revenue Management. </li><li>Must be thoroughly proficient with design and usage of sophisticated state of the art decision-support systems in the airline industry in RM, Pricing, Network Planning and Reservations </li><li>Demonstrable experience in system related total quality management (TQM) consisting of system assurance standards and quality checking. </li> </ul> <p><b>To Apply: </b>To express your interest in the above vacancy please apply on-line by clicking below, and complete our application form.
