About this role
<p> <strong>Position summary:</strong></p> <p>This role is responsible for managing the Jetstar Group’s fleet planning and major airport commercial requirements in order to enhance value generation and profitability through the ongoing execution of Jetstar’s pan-Asian growth strategy.</p> <p>The Senior Manager of Fleet & Commercial will identify and develop fleet growth requirements for all Jetstar businesses and support flexible execution of affiliate fleet plans through effective management of leased and owned aircraft delivery streams. The role will support long term fleet procurement activities for the group and manage the commercial relationships with aircraft Manufacturers as well as aircraft Leasing/Financing companies.</p> <p>The Senior Manager of Fleet & Commercial will also manage development and execution of commercial agreements with each of the major ‘hub’ airports across the Jetstar Group, ensuring all affiliate airlines have access to the required infrastructure and the lowest available cost position to successfully deliver the Jetstar business model.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>Note: Include here Decision Making – Freedom to Act.</p> <ul> <li> Support longer term aircraft type selection and fleet procurement/financing activities to ensure Jetstar Group/Jetstar Affiliates have access to the necessary aircraft delivery streams and competitive aircraft pricing to successfully execute the pan-Asian growth strategy</li> <li>Support Jetstar affiliates to develop and execute fleet growth requirements including potential aircraft financing support</li> <li>Manage leased and owned aircraft delivery streams to deliver the integrated Jetstar Group fleet plan</li> <li>Owned and/or leased aircraft growth</li> <li> Lease renewals/hand-backs</li> <li>Lease novation between Jetstar affiliates</li> <li>Short term wet-leasing between affiliates</li> <li>Develop and negotiate commercially advantageous agreements with key ‘hub’ airports on behalf the Jetstar Group</li> <li>Develop knowledge and expertise related to Jetstar’s Fleet Planning and Airport Commercial Negotiations and act as a centre of excellence in those areas of expertise</li> <li>Ensure high quality execution of all assigned workstreams and take responsibility for the delivery of key outcomes and KPIs as required on a ad-hoc or an ongoing basis</li> <li>Prepare documentation and communication materials up to board level to promote understanding and agreement to recommendations and to communicate progress towards assigned project outcomes</li> </ul> <p><strong>Accountabilities:</strong></p> <p>Note: Include here contacts / working relationships.</p> <ul> <li>Manage Jetstar Group’s commercial relationships with aircraft Manufacturers, aircraft Leasing/Financing companies and major ‘hub’ airports</li> <li>Manage ongoing fleet planning relationship with Jetstar affiliates</li> <li>Liaise with senior members of the Jetstar / Qantas / Jetstar Affiliate teams as required.</li> <li>Participate in the management of relationships at a senior level between the Networks team and internal and external stakeholders</li> <li>Build financial models, delivery plans, passenger forecasts, presentations and other communications as required</li> <li>Become subject matter expert in assigned areas of responsibility</li> <li>Comply with all corporate polices and guidelines and particularly those related to safety in the workplace.</li> <li>Participate in the Jetstar performance review process including review of safety performance and responsibilities</li> <li>Ensure, understand and meet safety responsibilities, and participate in workgroup led safety initiatives as required.</li> <li>Document and organise all Fleet and Airport Agreement related materials and ensure compliance with all required laws and company policies in the conduct of all projects</li> </ul> verbal communication skills</li> <li> Strong time management and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple stream of work at the same time</li> <li>Strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish sound working relationships with Senior personnel, peers and direct reports</li> <li>Willing to coach junior resources in group’s tool kit and required skill set</li> <li>Must be able to think clearly, creatively and work independently within a dynamic and fast paced environment.</li> <li>Maturity, ability to exercise leadership and initiative. </li> <li>Willing to travel as required for the needs of the position.</li> <li>Willing to challenge own and others preconceptions</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Tertiary Business qualification and MBA highly regarded</li> <li>Aircraft financing / leasing experience highly regarded</li> <li>Management Consulting experience highly regarded</li> <li>High quality experience in aircraft leasing or in an airline or across multiple geographies and working with different business models including functional knowledge across network planning and fleet management</li> <li>Demonstrated track record of successfully leading complex fleet and or airport related assignments</li> <li>Extremely well developed numerical, analytical and computer skills with a focus on developing insights not merely analysis</li> <li>Highly developed capability to clearly structure and plan significant projects in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment</li> <li>Proven ability to utilise multiple data sources to synthesize information and data into new forms</li> <li> Advanced knowledge of MS Office software, but particularly Excel, Access and Powerpoint</li> <li>
