About this role

<p>The Technical Support Engineer (Avionics) reports to and derives authority from the Manager Technical Services. In addition to General Responsibilities as outlined in the Technical Support Departmental Handbook, they are specifically responsible for:</p> <p>&nbsp;1.&nbsp;Analysing Component Defect Reports and taking action to improve reliability on the most cost effective basis, in conjunction with the Failure Rate Monitoring Programme.</p> <p>&nbsp;2.&nbsp;Addressing Fleet Technical Review Meeting items in a timely manner.</p> <p>&nbsp;3.&nbsp;Carrying out selection and periodic re-evaluation of external repair/overhaul agencies for rotable components in conjunction with the Contracts and Inspection Departments.</p> <p>&nbsp;4.&nbsp;Reviewing maintenance agreements between external repair/overhaul agencies and our client.</p> <p>&nbsp;5.&nbsp;Carrying out investigation in conjunction with manufacturers and overhaul agencies.</p> <p>&nbsp;6.&nbsp;Advising and/or assisting Engineering Economics staff to query suppliers invoice charges and negotiating settlement of warranty claims.</p> <p>&nbsp;7.&nbsp;Evaluating Boeing Service Bulletins/Letters/BOECOMS to determine desirability.</p> <p>&nbsp;8.&nbsp;Evaluating Vendor Service Bulletins/Letters/Boecoms to determine desirability and liaison with manufacturers/repair agencies for embodiment.</p> <p>&nbsp;9.&nbsp;Investigating remedial or modification action to reduce persistent aircraft systems defects.</p> <p>&nbsp;10.&nbsp;Preparing modification Engineering Releases in conjunction with the Design Department and Civil Aviation Authority.</p> <p>&nbsp;11.&nbsp;Advising and assisting maintenance supervision during manufacture and initial installation of Modification Engineering Releases. Monitor in-service reliability to obtain optimum performance.</p> <p>&nbsp;12.&nbsp;Performing project evaluation as directed by management.</p> <p>&nbsp;13.&nbsp;Recommending amendments to Maintenance Programme to achieve maximum cost-effectiveness or to meet changes in required maintenance inputs.</p> <p>&nbsp;14.&nbsp;Providing technical information in relation to Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MOR), Flight Safety Reports (ASR) and Engineering Investigation Reports (EIR).</p> <p>&nbsp;15.&nbsp;Evaluating Boeing PRR's in conjunction with scheduled new aircraft deliveries.</p> <p>&nbsp;16.&nbsp;Representing our client at meetings with manufacturers and airlines away from base.</p> <p>&nbsp;17.&nbsp;Maintaining liaison with repair/overhaul agencies.</p> <p>&nbsp;18.&nbsp;Initiating and advising the Team Engineer on changes to the Company Approved Agency List.</p> <p>&nbsp;19.&nbsp;Advising on routing of all rotable components in accordance with the Company Approved Agency List, not covered by the SRT/Boeing contracts.</p> <p>&nbsp;20.&nbsp;Producing, amending or enhancing departmental, inter-departmental and company procedures.</p> <p>If you interested in this role then please send your CV to <a href="mailto:ben@luap.com">ben@luap.com</a> or call 01403 217688</p>
