<p>Our customer is a world leader in the manufacture of business Jets, with an excellent reputation for delivering first class products for today’s markets.</p> <p>They are seeking to appoint a Chief Structural Design Engineer to their operation based in the North west of the UK.</p> <p><b>Business Context</b></p> <p>Reporting to the Chief Engineer & Design Manager EMEA has responsibility for the Management and coordination of the Structures Engineering function.</p> <p>Responsibility to include airworthiness, planning and development of engineering strategy. The role will be part supervisory and part “hands-on”.</p> <p>Aircraft Service Centre</p> <p>E<strong>ducation and Experience</strong></p> <p>Educated to Eng degree level in the appropriate discipline, working knowledge of the various regulatory authorities and approval process and requirements. Has product wide knowledge and experience across all Company aircraft platforms.</p> <p>Experience beneficial.</p> <p>The position requires influencing diplomatic and communication skills.</p> <p>Seasoned professional with a broad experience in the aircraft industry.</p> <p><b>Competencies</b></p> <p><b>Direction & Leadership: </b>Provides direction and ensuring resources are available to achieve results in the most</p> <p>Effective way. Creating and maintaining an appropriate level of activity.</p> <p><b>Nature and Scope</b></p> <p>Carries out design and development activities to meet customer requirements for the modification of aircraft.</p> <p>• Will be responsible for completion of both contracted work and bids for the structures team, on</p> <p>cost, on schedule and of appropriate quality</p> <p>• Will assist management to monitor workloads and priorities and identify near term and far term resource needs for the structures team.</p> <p>• Will be responsible for allocation of work within the structures team, both to complete the structures work as well as to support other teams within the business.</p> <p>• Mentoring / Reviewing within the structures team.</p> <p>• Works to improve efficiencies within the team, and minimize disruptions within the team.</p> <p>• Allocate the Interface to internal and external customers.</p> <p>• Ensuring bids get issued in a timely manner.</p> <p>• Ensures design work complies with ALL regulatory requirements.</p> <p>• Ensures feedback loop is in place to keep the department systems informed of planned activities</p> <p><b>Mandatory:</b></p> <p>Modification</p> <p>Furnishing / Interiors / Structures experience</p> <p>Planning experience</p> <p>Stress Liaison experience</p> <p>Internal / External Audits and Approvals</p> <p>Airworthiness / Certification</p> <p>Ability to Communicate Effectively</p> <p>Leadership and a positive attitude through difficult situations.</p> <p><b>Experience in the any following would be very useful:-</b></p> <p>Reliability, Safety, Compilation of Certification Reports, Test Schedules, Compliance documentation, Repairs experience.</p> <p>A highly competitive annual salary will be awarded to the successful application.</p> <p>Contact Simon Portway for full details.</p> <p><i>Only candidates with the right to live and work in the EU will be considered.</i></p> <p><i>Regrettably only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.</i></p>
