Salary: Excellent Our client based in prestigious offices in Bedfordshire require a Design Engineer.
<p>Our client is requiring an experienced Design Engineer based at their prestigious offices in Bedfordshire, UK</p> <p>The applicant will ideally have an Aircraft Engineering qualification, either HNC/HND, or equivalent proven experience through apprenticeship and experience in an aeronautical design office.</p> <p>The applicant must be familiar with the preparation of engineering design change modifications including all reports and technical drawings supporting the requirements of the company EASA PART21 Section A, Subpart J approval.</p> <p>Successful candidates must have the following skills:-</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of modification preparation per the requirements of PART 21 DOA</li> <li>Working knowledge of CS25</li> <li>Proven organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads according to tight deadlines.</li> <li>Highly self motivated.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.</li> <li>The applicant must be computer literate, familiar with MS Word on NT/XP, Excel and Power point, and experienced with AutoCAD latest release.</li> <li>Proven cost awareness.</li> <li>Ability to use own initiative and make appropriate decisions in the absence of the Office Manager.</li> <li>Liaise with the regulatory Agency on all matters where applicable</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:-</strong></p> <p>HNC/HND in Engineering plus an aeronautical Engineering apprenticeship is desirable.</p> <p>Experience in aeronautical engineering environment.</p> <p>Experience in Design/drawing office environment.</p> <p>Basic Terms of Reference</p> <p><strong>1.</strong> Evaluate proposals from our clients internal divisions for acceptance of modification action, including cost analysis.</p> <p><strong>2.</strong> Prepare modification documentation if evaluation is conclusive. Liaise with our clients internal divisions, local authorities (CAA) and EASA, advise relevant Tech. Support Engineer of modification action. (This will include Mod Classification, Mod Certification Plans, Mod Summary, Technical Engineering Orders and all associated engineering drawings).</p> <p><strong>3.</strong> Advise Technical and Procurement Planning Departments of modification action; assist in planning implementation and material procurement (approval of suppliers and manufacturers etc.).</p> <p><strong>4.</strong> Advise and assist maintenance supervision in the implementation of initial fit modifications. Assist maintenance staff, be aware of maintenance staff problems and offer design assistance with engineering changes.</p> <p><strong>5.</strong> Perform technical audits of third party contract companies to evaluate ability to produce modifications on behalf of our clients, e.g. approvals, using compatible computer systems and where applicable our clients documentation.</p> <p><strong>6.</strong> Liaise with third party contract companies on the design and documentation of our clients modifications.</p> <p><strong>7.</strong> Evaluate Vendor Service Bulletins and Manuals (CMM, IPC and Repair) and offer technical advice on "In-Service" problems.</p> <p><strong>8.</strong> Evaluate and prepare design solutions for component repairs, advising the relevant Tech. Support Engineer and the General Manager Airworthiness Co-Ordination. Evaluate Carry Forward Defect Forms and advise relevant regulatory authority.</p> <p><strong>9.</strong> Evaluate and prepare aircraft repair schemes in conjunction with the aircraft Structural Repair Manual and/or the aircraft manufacturer.</p> <p><strong>10. </strong>Evaluate and analyse the aircraft Structural Repair Manuals and advise aircraft manufacturer of any anomalies.</p> <p><strong>11. </strong>Advise and assist maintenance supervision during manufacture and installation of repair schemes.</p> <p><strong>12. </strong>Maintain all computerised records associated with modifications and repairs, including recorded hours to complete task.</p> <p><strong>13. </strong>Perform project evaluation as directed by management.</p> <p><strong>14.</strong> Accomplish personal key tasks and management projected key tasks.</p> <p><strong>15.</strong> Participation in specialised project teams for evaluation of new and/or better materials for use on our clients aircraft, maintaining a high cost benefit to the company.</p> <p><strong>16.</strong> Preparation of specialised passenger compartment layouts for lease aircraft, special flights etc. Provide assistance to our clients Contracts Department and third party airlines.</p> <p><strong>17. </strong>Provide assistance in the training of apprentices.</p> <p><strong>18. </strong>Provide assistance in checking completed modification, Engineering Releases and drawings.</p> <p><strong>19. </strong>Preparation of material specifications for our client, including liaison with specialist Test Houses.</p> <p><strong>20. </strong>Work in accordance with the PART 21 DOE processes and procedures.<br /> <br /> <strong>21</strong>.
