About this role

<p>The primary function of the Aircraft Equipment Designer role is to carry out the design of new equipment and design of repair schemes in line with our EASA part 21J Design Organisation Approval. This will involve the scheming and detail design of equipment fitted within the cabin of large and medium bodied commercial airliners that constitute a minor change to the aircraft. There will be read across to our military aircraft equipment and the need to provide support within various multi- disciplined projects and ventures.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:</p> <p>?&nbsp;Production of design schemes and repair schemes in line with CS23 &amp; CS25 Aircraft Construction Specifications that constitute a minor change to the aircraft.<br /> ?&nbsp;Preparation of classification and compliance documentation including the compliance checklist.<br /> ?&nbsp;Liaise effectively with customers throughout each project, maintaining the companies reputation for commitment and professionalism. <br /> ?&nbsp;Produce detailed drawing sets and associated documentation needed for demonstration of compliance. Control and issue design schemes, manufacturing drawings and all other necessary technical documentation in line with all relevant Quality procedures.<br /> ?&nbsp;Plan, organise and accurately monitor workload to meet strict deadlines.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</p> <p>?&nbsp;3D CAD Skills must include Catia V5.<br /> ?&nbsp;Design of equipment fitted to medium and wide bodied aircraft in the following areas;<br /> ?&nbsp;Galleys and other interior equipment<br /> ?&nbsp;Installation of Oxygen Systems<br /> ?&nbsp;Installation of Waste Systems<br /> ?&nbsp;Design of repair schemes for the above equipment<br /> ?&nbsp;Recognised engineering apprenticeship and / or college ONC/HNC/HND/ or university qualification.<br /> ?&nbsp;Must have a good understanding of mechanical systems and component design.<br /> ?&nbsp;Capable of creating complete drawing packs, and compliance documentation to support the changes to the aircraft&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /> &nbsp;<br /> PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:</p> <p>?&nbsp;Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<br /> ?&nbsp;Planning and organising with ability to work to strict deadlines.<br /> ?&nbsp;Excellent team worker, with the ability and self discipline to work alone effectively.<br /> ?&nbsp;Positive approach to production support and customer service.<br /> ?&nbsp;Highly driven and self motivated.<br /> ?&nbsp;Maintain a professional attitude, keeping calm and controlled when working in demanding and pressurised environments.<br /> ?&nbsp;Adaptable and flexible in approach to change.<br /> ?&nbsp;Proactive decision making and problem solving skills.<br /> ?&nbsp;Ability to use conceptual thinking and awareness to generate new ideas. <br /> ?&nbsp;Presenting progress to the design team in weekly project meetings.</p> <p>To find out more please contact Tony on 01403 217688 or send your CV to <a href="mailto:tony@luap.com">tony@luap.com</a>.</p>
