<p> </p> <p align="justify">Our Client has an immediate requirement for a Platform Engineering Lead to lead all aspects of the Air Vehicle in any activity of the Air Vehicle study, analysis, modification or design.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Main Responsibilities</strong>:<br /> · To be trained to be competent on the Air Vehicle platform (including structure, aeromechanics, avionics and propulsion) aspects as a whole, and specifically including (but not limited to) aeromechanic, mechanical systems (e.g. fuel system), propulsion system (e.g. Engine), and flight science of the Air Vehicle.<br /> · Support the establishment of AV platform engineering capability that will be able to deal with all the air vehicle aspects related to TLI, CLS, repairs, maintenance and airworthiness. This will include:<br /> 1. Support creating the required knowledge and expertise within the Client or the ability within the Client to manage subcontractors that will address these subjects.<br /> 2. Capability to design and manage design changes of the AV platform.<br /> 3. Ability to plan & conduct acceptance tests.<br /> 4. Technical support to Flight trials.<br /> 5. Authority to approve concessions, minor damages and deviations.<br /> 6. Knowledge of Air Vehicle performance and limitations.<br /> 7. Knowledge of analysis tools and procedure for an AV. <br /> · Become the Airworthiness expert and authority as a focal point with the UK authorities.<br /> · Represent the Client and participate in customers and subcontractors meetings and reviews to cover the aspects of the AV platform and airworthiness.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Main Tasks</strong>:<br /> · Plan and participate in training on all aspects of the AV platform Overseas including but not limited to:</p> <p align="justify"><em>Aeromechanics</em><br /> o AV sub-assemblies and installation design<br /> o Equipment installation and assembly design<br /> o Stress analysis<br /> o Thermal analysis<br /> o Weight and Balance analysis</p> <p align="justify"><em>Flight Science</em><br /> o Aerodynamics of the AV<br /> o Performances<br /> o Flight control</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Airworthiness data from suppliers and subcontractors<br /> </strong>· Establish processes, tools, methods and procedures to build centre of excellence and carry out activities in the Client based on processes covering the above tasks.<br /> · Collect, accept and assimilate the data into the Clients system.<br /> · Participate and represent the Client in meetings and reviews with customers (PCMO, TUAV IPT, end User) and subcontractors.<br /> · Approve and monitor activities of mechanical engineers and electrical engineers (subcontractors and/or internal engineers) in analysis, design, modification and test of activities required to be performed by the Client as the AV design authority.<br /> · Support production of AV’s by managing and implementing modification instructions for the AV platform.<br /> · Interpret, analyse and apply the relevant defence standards for AV airworthiness requirements within the Client.<br /> · Collate and review all evidence required to enable the Client authorization of the AV flights.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Knowledge: </strong><br /> · Knowledge of all aspects of air vehicle development/modification process. <br /> · Excellent understanding of AV platform design documents and analyses data.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Skills Required:<br /> </strong>· Flight Test Pilot, and/or Flight Test Engineer and/or Aeronautic engineer and/or Aeromechanical engineer with academic education.<br /> · Proven experience of involvement in air vehicle development.<br /> · Capability and skills to apply engineering judgement on all aspects of AV platform modification.<br /> · Capability and skills to manage, monitor, control of subcontractors that will implement the required modifications.<br /> · Knowledge of defence standards relevant for AV airframe and airworthiness.<br /> · Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills</p> <p align="justify">Successful candidates will have a proven background of working on major projects within the Defence/Aerospace industry and in return our Client can provide you with the opportunity to make a significant impact on one of the UK's most prestigious programmes.</p> <p align="justify">Interested?
