<p> </p> <p>JOB PURPOSE</p> <p> </p> <p>To work with the Design and Production Teams to ensure a manufacturing solution is delivered which meets and exceeds cost, quality and schedule requirements.</p> <p> </p> <p><b><u>PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES</u></b><b><u><br /> </u></b></p> <p>· Support the bid process for new programs through process selection, the development of recurring and non-recurring costs and identify tooling requirements.</p> <p>· Collaborate with the Design Team on new programs/products to ensure all appropriate gate review deliverables are achieved and the product developed satisfies all production requirements.</p> <p>· Complete model, drawing and BoM reviews in line with program timeframes.</p> <p>· Identify and define technical specifications of tools and fixtures to ensure the product satisfies the specifications and tolerances required.</p> <p>· Identify and define technical specifications of plant and equipment and using Lean Manufacturing principles collaborate with the Production Team to define layout.</p> <p>· Support the Production Team with the resolution of engineering related issues.</p> <p>· Develop and update Manufacturing Support and Manufacturing Process Specification Documents.</p> <p>· Identify and implement Lean initiatives.</p> <p>· Using 5S methods collaborate with the Production Team to ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained.</p> <p>· Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement within the department.</p> <p>· Any other duties as required to support business needs.</p> <p align="center"><b><u> </u></b></p> <p><b><u>THE PERSON</u></b><b><u><br /> </u></b></p> <p><b>Key Attributes:</b></p> <p>· <b>Job Knowledge:</b> Has the job knowledge and technical skills to understand his/her duties and responsibilities.</p> <p>· <b>Continuous Improvement:</b> Constantly measures for the effectiveness of processes and strives to meet more difficult objectives. Manages time well and effectively, including personal attendance and on-time performance.<b><u><br /> </u></b></p> <p><b><u>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA</u></b><b><u><br /> </u></b></p> <p>· Degree qualification in a related engineering discipline.</p> <ul> <li>One years working or three years research experience gained in a relevant engineering discipline.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><b><u>DESIRABLE CRITERIA</u></b></p> <ul> <li>One years working or three years research experience in the area of composites.</li> <li>One years working experience in the development of tools and jigs for the manufacture of composite components.</li> <li>Relevant experience in implementing the principles of Lean Manufacturing.</li> <li>One year’s project management experience from initial research to implementation.</li> <li>Familiarity with the use of CAD systems.</li> </ul>
