About this role
<p>Our client in Co Down, Northern Ireland urgently requires an experienced Unigraphics (NX7) Design Engineer to support new and on-going aero projects. </p> <p><b> </b></p> <p><b>JOB PURPOSE:</b></p> <p>The job holder will work as part of the design team in support of production and assembly operations, solving engineering issues.</p> <p><b> </b></p> <p><b>PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p> <p>· Design, create and make updates to 2D and 3D Parametric Models, and associated drawings, using the master model approach in Unigraphics (NX7).</p> <p>· Write ECN’s and correct engineering data in the form of models, drawing and Bill of materials.</p> <p>· Maximise DFM/DFA opportunities during the design process.</p> <p>· Assist with and implement design improvements in the design process in line with the continuous improvement culture within the team</p> <p>· Ensure deliverables are met and compliance with specifications and requirements.</p> <p>· Support production with the introduction of new products and launch issues</p> <p>· Develop and ensure the accuracy of engineering Bill of Materials (BoMs)</p> <p><b>· </b>Build effective relationships with internal and external customers<b> </b></p> <p><b> </b></p> <p><b>THE PERSON</b></p> <p><b> </b><b>Key Attributes:</b></p> <p><b> </b>· <b>Strong Technical Expertise;</b> the ability to develop and provide guidance and advice in the area of technical responsibility</p> <p>· <b>Results Orientation; </b>a can do attitude with the ability to effectively analyse data, identify issues, find solutions and deliver results in line with changing business requirements</p> <p>· <b>Judgement and Decision Making; </b>ability to accurately and effectively review options and make the correct decision based on available information</p> <p>· <b>Strong Leadership and Organisational Skills;</b> ability to deliver on projects or tasks while meeting deadlines</p> <p>· <b>Excellent Communication Skills;</b> excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels in order to ensure business objectives are met</p> <p>· <b>Team Working;</b> strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually or as part of a team.</p> <p><b> </b></p> <p><b>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA</b></p> <p><b> </b>· A relevant degree in engineering or a related discipline</p> <p>· Experience of 3D parametric modeling</p> <p>· Drafting experience</p> <p> </p> <p><b>DESIRABLE CRITERIA</b></p> <p><b> </b>· 2+ years experience in a relevant role</p> <p>· Relevant experience in the following:</p> <p>o Developing and structuring Bills of Material (BoMs)</p> <p>o Design for Manufacture and Design For Assembly (DFM/DFA)</p> <p>o Unigraphics (NX) CAD system</p> <p> </p> <p> You must hold a current EU Passport for this role.</p>
