<p>Atkins Aerospace is a progressive and rapidly expanding part of the Atkins group of business. We provide high end technical and project management services to the prime aerospace companies. We are a strategic supplier to both Rolls-Royce and Airbus UK, and as such we are involved in some of the most challenging and exciting aerospace projects in the world: <strong>Joint Strike Fighter; A380; A350; A400M; A320; Trent 1000</strong>. </p> <p> We are now seeking the right individuals to join our growing aerospace team in Bristol. The position of Aerospace Design Engineer is ideally suited to people with sufficient and appropriate engineering design experience. You will be given the opportunity to provide high quality technical input to our aerospace design projects, spanning both aero-structures, and aero-engines. </p> <p>The right candidates will need to demonstrate a desire to be challenged and to contribute towards the success and growth of the business. In return we can offer career development, an empowered and supportive working environment and competitive reward package. </p> <p><b>The requirements</b> </p> <p>You will be degree qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or possess suitable experience in lieu of a degree), with sufficient and appropriate engineering design experience in environments relevant to the aerospace sector. You will have experience in one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Metallic’s design</li> <li>Composites design</li> <li>Design for manufacture You will be expected to demonstrate the following attributes:</li> <li>Professional in approach and performance</li> <li>Strong communication skills</li> <li>Commercial awareness</li> <li>Team worker with the ability to effectively manage themselves and colleagues when appropriate.</li> <li>Experienced in aerospace design, either aero-engines or aero-structures</li> <li>Trained and experienced in the use of CATIA V4/5</li> <li>Experienced in data handling processes (converting, translating & transfer) Ideally you will be:</li> <li>Pursuing Chartership through the IMechE or RAeS <br /> </li> </ul> <p><b>Additional information</b><br /> <br /> Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to client’s offices may also be required. Secondments to other aerospace offices in the UK or overseas may be available. </p> <p><b><br /> <strong>SECURITY</strong></b> – All candidates must be in a position to obtain UK security clearance to BS level. Additional restrictions may apply to certain projects. <em>The UK Government have taken steps to reduce net migration to the UK by limiting the number of overseas workers from outside the EEA coming to the UK for employment.
