<p>Our customer is a world leader in the provision of a variety of services to the aviation industry, undertaking projects on both civil and military aircraft.</p> <p>Due to a significant period of growth they are seeking to appoint a Production Engineer to join their operation located in the heart of rural East Anglia.</p> <p><b><u>Primary Purpose of the Role</u></b></p> <p>To provide the production engineering support that will take new products and aircraft modifications through from conceptual design to production in a timely and cost effective manner.</p> <p>To contribute to project and bid teams in developing tender opportunities.</p> <p>Work with the design and supply chain teams to ensure a concurrent approach and to optimise the manufacturing cost while maintaining quality and delivery objectives</p> <p>Provide, for the Supply Chain team, ongoing support to subcontractors as required</p> <p>To be an integral part of the product life cycle requirements and follow the configuration control systems required for manufacturing</p> <p>Derive detailed methods and procedures along with time standards for optimum production</p> <p>Keep up to date with processes and techniques that will ensure the design team are supported and best practice is achieved</p> <p>Advise on systems, layouts and capital equipment that ensure effective productionisation of the product offering. Project manage new capital and methods and commission as required</p> <p><b><u>Key responsibilities:</u></b></p> <ul> <li><b>Implementation of Company Life Cycle Management system</b></li> <li>Contribute to all stages of the LCM process as appropriate</li> <li><b>Be part of the pre bid tender process</b></li> <li>Prepare estimates and contribute to team preparing tenders</li> <li>Contribute to Production Engineering input into PDP and PMP</li> <li><b>Ensuring effective design for manufacture</b></li> <li>Work in a concurrent way with all project multi-discipline teams</li> <li><b>Maintenance of configuration control requirements</b></li> <li>Ensuring correct and timely production of job/work cards</li> <li>Produce build standards instructions for optimum costs and efficiency</li> <li>Issue of full build information for production teams</li> <li><b>Development and application of manufacturing processes </b></li> <li>Ensuring efficient methods and techniques are applied</li> <li>Awareness of new materials and processes and their application</li> <li><b>Supporting Supply Chain</b></li> <li>Assist in the selection process for supplier</li> <li>Provide ongoing support to supplier as required by Supply Chain</li> <li><b>Productionisation of product build </b></li> <li>Develop layouts and systems to ensure efficient build</li> <li>Design and application of processes to reduce waste</li> <li>Develop planning and control systems to aid production</li> <li>Project manage production installations</li> <li><b>Development of a Continuous Improvement culture </b></li> <li>Application of Lean techniques</li> <li>Pursue operational excellence standards at all levels of production</li> <li>Setting up of operational KPI’s to support objectives</li> <li><b>Control and Efficient operation of the Team </b></li> <li>Control own work within budget requirements</li> <li>Ensure correct booking to costing/budget system</li> <li><b>Professional development of all staff </b></li> <li>Contribute to own Continuous Professional Development plans</li> <li><b>Innovation in problem solving and business strategy </b></li> <li>Contribute to improvements in internal techniques</li> <li>Encourage and develop new ideas</li> <li><b>Implementation of company design and quality policy </b></li> <li>Implementation of company design and quality policy <p> </p> Located in the beautiful city of Cambridge, you will have access to first class facilities and leisure pursuits, and some of the best schools in the area, excellent transport links to London and the Midlands via rail & road.</li> <li> <p>This role will come with a high competitive annual salary.</p> <p>Contact Simon Portway for full details.</p> <p><i>Only candidates that possess the right and the appropriate documentation to live and work in the EU will be considered. </i></p> <p><i>Regrettably only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.</i></p> </li> </ul>
