<p>Base Maintenance Manager required for customer with strong links to the MOD.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Purpose of the job</b></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Base Maintenance Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of aircraft Base Maintenance activities to ensure a safe, efficient and cost effective service is delivered.</p> <p><b>Job description responsibilities</b></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Be responsible for ensuring full compliance with the requirements of EASA Part M sub Part G and Part 145 in respect to the base maintenance of the FSTA Voyager A330 fleet.</p> <p>Be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Base Maintenance aspects of the company MOE and its associated procedures.</p> <p>Be responsible for working with the Fleet Engineering Director and the Fleet Engineering team in the establishment of, and on-going management of the hangar operations</p> <p>Be responsible for the performance and management of Base &lsquo;A&rsquo; checks and C Checks and other hangar related maintenance inputs.</p> <p>Be responsible for the performance and management of the hangar support workshops.</p> <p>Be responsible for the day to day management and supervision of a mixed team of military and civilian aircraft Base Maintenance staff, including rostering, leave and absence, discipline and training.</p> <p>Be responsible for managing and developing a team of maintenance staff including the performance of Personnel Development Reviews with direct reports, and ensuring that the same is performed with their subordinates</p> <p>Work closely with the Line Maintenance Manager in ensuring that a smooth handover of aircraft exists between Line and Base Maintenance, and ensuring the co-ordination of resources between Line and Base to optimise utilisation, and satisfy the requirements to support Deployed Operations with Sponsored Reservist staff.</p> <p>Work closely and liaise with the Part M organisation in determining the work content, spares availability, tooling and hangar and any other special requirements for the planned workload, taking into account any human factors implications.</p> <p>Be responsible for ensuring all line maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved published standards (Company, EASA, CAA) and procedures.</p> <p>Ensure that all maintenance documentation is fully completed by the maintenance team, and that all required reporting is performed in a timely manner.</p> <p>Be responsible for ensuring that all licensed and approved staff maintain their approvals and remain current on type / systems to which they are approved to certify, and that they only exercise their certification privileges in accordance with the scope of their approval.</p> <p>Ensure that the line maintenance staff resources are matched with the planned workload, including the provision of man-hour capacity plans and ensure all staff are trained and competent to perform line maintenance duties in accordance with EASA Part 145 regulations and company procedures</p> <p>Be responsible for ensuring performed maintenance action details are accurately recorded utilizing the company IT system (SAP iMRO).</p> <p>Ensure simple and aligned process flows are in place for all line maintenance activities and fully embrace industry practices, including fully exploiting the SAP functionality.</p> <p>Be personally responsible for delivering a safe service in all facets of the role in line with the requirements of the SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.&nbsp; Also ensure that those employees reporting to this post are briefed in these systems, are aware of the company safety and quality policies and the hazard analyses applicable to their tasking.</p> <p>Ensure that all Non Conformances and Incident reports are satisfactorily addressed in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Essential job holder qualifications &amp; experience.</b></p> <p>Demonstrable experience in managing a large base maintenance organisation within a Part 145 environment, managing a multi-disciplined team.</p> <p>Acceptable to the CAA as a Form 4 post holder.</p> <p>Educated to degree level / Part 66 License or equivalent.</p> <p>Demonstrable experience in developing efficient and effective processes, procedures and championing continuous improvement within operations.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Desirable job holder qualifications &amp; experience.</b></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Experience in MoD environment.</p> <p>Experience of the establishment of base maintenance capabilities.</p> <p>Experience on A330 platform</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Personal Specification (competencies)</b></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Knowledge of national and international aviation regulations, both technical and operational</p> <p>Knowledge of Company requirements as detailed in the MOE and company procedures</p> <p>Knowledge of aircraft maintenance schedules, manufacturer and regulatory requirement.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Send your fully updated CV in Word format to Simon Portway</p>
