Purpose <br />? To lead the manufacturing facility in meeting and exceeding customer requirements on quality, cost and delivery.<br /><br />2. Knowledge and Experience <br />? Extensive knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing processes <br />? Hands on approach <br />? Understands MRP system and how it drives the key business processes <br />? Understands the benefits of visual management <br />? First class leadership and motivational skills <br />? Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety and environmental management <br />? Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods. <br />? Experience of production management in a medium size business 50 - 100 employees <br />? Understanding of lean principles <br /><br />3. Principal Accountabilities <br />? To ensure customer requirements are satisfied in terms of product quality, cost and delivery <br />? To develop a manufacturing strategy and business plan which support the Group strategy <br />? To provide leadership and direction for the manufacturing facility <br />? To ensure that capacity planning, scheduling and procurement/materials management activities are carried out in order to meet customer requirements <br />? To recruit and retain an appropriately skilled workforce and to continue to develop the skills and capabilities of all employees <br />? To develop a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace <br />? To develop and mentor teams and the team working ethos within the business as part of the continuous improvement culture <br />? To identify and eliminate all forms of waste in the manufacturing process <br />? To formulate budgets and ensure the manufacturing facility operates within budget and generates revenue <br />? To ensure the manufacturing facility and its equipment is appropriately maintained and cleaned <br />? To ensure quality standards and procedures are observed and maintained <br />? To establish and maintain a legally compliant and safe working environment <br />? To generate visual business metrics, which enable business performance to be tracked on a regular basis and targets achieved <br />? To lead and support business improvement initiatives (ie cost reduction, process improvement, housekeeping) <br />? To work within cross functional teams to support business development, growth and improvement projects as required. <br />? To ensure appropriate standard of behaviour and conduct are maintained within the business in line with company policies. <br /><br />4. Key Performance Indicators <br />? OTIF supply of product to our customers <br />? Quality assured products supplied to customers <br />? Maintenance of a safe working environment <br />? Productivity and cost reduction improvements <br />? Delivery of specific business improvement projects (ie set-up reduction, agreed percentage cost reductions) <br />?
