<img src="http://counter.adcourier.com/c2ltb25wLjg0NjQxLjQyNEBhZXJvcGVvcGxlLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif" /><br /><p>Our customer is at the forefront of today's cutting edge Aerospace manufacturing industry.<br />With a global presence that offers a wide variety of composite component manufacturing solutions & aftercare products to an extensive list of customers that includes Airbus, Boeing & the MOD.<br />Due to an extensive period of growth & development they are seeking to appoint the services of an Engineer in Charge to join their operation based in the South West UK region.<br /><br />Purpose<br />To manage Programme Engineering tasks to meet programme and business objectives.<br /><br />Role Accountabilities<br />? Key Customer interface for the programme.<br />? Manages the engineering project team and interfaces with the business units.<br />? Integration at overall program level of planning and scheduling data, as required, from Product Integrators at individual package level.<br />? Establishing overall program priorities for design engineering task.<br />? Resolution, in conjunction with functional heads, of overall resourcing conflicts between packages.<br />? Overall design NRC planning, tracking, and control.<br />? Continued business programme support through product service<br />? Link to Operations for manufacturing philosophy, design for cost agreements, etc.<br />? Change control at Customer level.<br />? Management of project technical content.<br />? Identification of work packages suitable for off-load to external Suppliers.<br />To identify and implement Lean initiatives and to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.<br /><br />Skills, Experience & Qualifications<br />? From an engineering discipline within an aerospace environment <br />? Proven track record as a leader of an engineering team<br />? Experience in multi-discipline engineering activities<br />? Management of complex projects.<br />? Project management, planning and organising skills based on recognised management methods.<br />? Strong business and commercial acumen.<br />? Solid approach/understanding to the delivery and tracking of engineering tasks.<br />? Able to define challenging objectives and achieve them.<br />? Relationship building at all levels up to and including senior management level.<br />? Vision and purpose to support organisational change.<br />? Ability to mentor and coach engineers in the delivery of their specific task<br /><br />Person Specification<br /><br />Able to influence, and where necessary challenge, stakeholders at all levels within the business.<br />? Likely to be able to be eligible for approval level 4 signatory.<br />? Able to work with cross functional teams that will typically include (in addition to the design engineering team) operations, manufacturing engineering, commercial. procurement, quality and suppliers<br />? Excellent written, oral, presentation and facilitation skills <br />? Must have the ability to rationalise, assess and evaluate information that may not always be clear <br />? Has good judgement in considering when escalation is appropriate.<br />? Strong minded and committed, focussed on delivery, must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines<br />? Numerate and articulate<br />? Ability to present data and reports to facilitate the decision making process at all levels of the business<br />? Has the ability to work successfully within a matrix managed business, able to influence without legitimate authority<br />? Ability to work as key a part of a team<br />? Resourceful, flexible and adaptable.<br />? Prepared to work on the complete range of Aerospace programmes, both civil and military<br />?
