<img src="http://counter.adcourier.com/c2ltb25wLjM1MjY0LjQyNEBhZXJvcGVvcGxlLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif" /><br /><p>Our customer is at the forefront of today's cutting edge Aerospace manufacturing industry.<br />With a global presence that offers a wide variety of composite component manufacturing solutions & aftercare products to an extensive list of customers that includes Airbus, Boeing & the MOD.<br />Due to an extensive period of growth & development they are seeking to appoint the services of a Senior Programme Manager to join their operation based in the South West UK region.<br /><br />Job Purpose<br />To help establish an improved infrastructure, capability and governance of Programme Management within Engineering Operations for Europe and Special Products. <br />You will become part of a core team of programme management exemplars<br /><br />Role Accountabilities <br />? Take responsibility to maintain and deploy a consistent approach to lifecycle management ensuring all necessary disciplines are appropriately involved and solutions can be effectively tailored to specific Customer or Contract requirements.<br />o Lifecycle management documentation with checklists per review, expected inputs and outputs and the relationship<br />o Produce map of reviews against those from each customer to show how they relate and are covered by the company process<br />o Identify the key process flows related to the engineering design and development process and the CEng reviews<br />? Take responsibility to ensure a Body of Knowledge is established reflecting current best practise within industry and maintaining a view of the trends on methods, tools and process improvements within Customers and Suppliers.<br />? Establish a career framework for Programme Management related Managers and Employees, integrating this within the existing engineering career framework. This will include supporting appropriate development plans for individuals.<br />o Ensure that best practice for competency frameworks from APM and other Organisations are included.<br />o Output is a set of frameworks based on role, grade and seniority (covers Engineering and Programmes), will cover the means of how the experience, skill, leadership is established, e.g. training, mentoring and performance. It will include means of objective assessment.<br /><br />? Mentor and coach Programme Teams to embed good practice and improve performance; this will include assessing Programmes to determine the maturity of their approach and working with them to implement improvement plans.<br />o Establish baseline status, action plans and measures of improvement<br />? Establish lessons learned process and take responsibility to embed lessons learned in processes and deploy to teams/organisation<br />? Presenting to Customers and supporting bids as appropriate.<br />o Supporting the nominated Programme Manager in showing how the company approach to programme management supports the overall approach to programme management and is fit for purpose, meeting the Customer expectations and requirements<br /><br />Key Skills Required<br />? Educated to degree (or equivalent) level in engineering or related discipline.<br />? Significant practical experience of leading complex aerospace related engineering programmes (Aerostructures / systems).<br />? Experience of working within a matrix organisation structure would be highly advantageous. <br />? Experience in developing programme management processes and infrastructure.<br />? Formal programme management training (accredited if possible) and a member of the APM or PMI.<br />Knowledge of different approaches to managing programmes e.g. PRINCE, and OEM Customer expectation.<br /><br />Person Specification<br />? Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) at all organisational levels.<br />? Self-motivated and proactive approach to managing tasks and projects.<br />? Confident in building working relationships with senior managers (executives), leaders and team. Able to effectively adapt communication style to different groups. <br />? Logical thinker, able to balance theoretical knowledge with pragmatic application within a business context.<br />? Able to present data and information in a concise and informative way.<br />? Willingness to travel to other company sites. <br />?
