Due to an internal restructure and expansion, they are now seeking to appoint the following individual;<br /><br />Project Manager (Major Projects)<br /><br />Role Description:<br />Reporting to the Head of Projects, the role of Project Manager (Major Projects) is to be the main point of contact with the customer and within the company. There are currently three Project Managers of Major Projects, these are split geographically from Europe, Middle East and Rest of the World. We are looking to increase our focus on our customers and are adding 2 more roles within the team to lead the projects.<br />The successful candidate will lead commercial activities at the front end, taking project requirements and translating these into business functional briefs, providing accurate financial forecasts and budgets. You will be responsible for all aspects of a successful project managing functions through a matrix organisation and will be the lead in review meetings both internally and externally. You will be confident in managing suppliers and co-ordinating multiple agencies in a complex engineering environment to deliver successful projects in terms of schedule, cost and quality.<br />A firm understanding of the management of project scope and control is required as you will manage numerous projects and customers concurrently. You will possess an analytical mind and a penchant for detail. You should be conscious of the value stream and be ever mindful of cost control to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum project margin, without compromising quality. <br />You will be well versed in managing projects from quotation stage through to delivery. Furthermore you will have strong influencing and planning skills together with commercial astuteness.<br />An amount of travel will be expected in the role as the customer has a number of UK and Overseas offices, coupled with this is a expansive supply chain and worldwide customers.<br /><br />Person Spec:<br />As Project Manager, you will be qualified to A-Level / HNC level in an engineering discipline and degree qualified in either an engineering or business discipline. Experience in managing complex engineering projects, preferably in the aerospace or defence industry but not essential. Experience in commercial dealings with both customers and suppliers, including setting up of agreements and managing projects within these bounds is required.
