About this role
<p><strong><u>Purpose</u></strong></p> <p>The purpose of this role is to act as the key source for market information, analysis and forecasting for Dubai Airports. You will be responsible for i) producing detailed macroeconomic and bottom-up demand forecasting and scenario planning that will drive the capacity and master planning processes; ii) analyzing and producing a market development strategy that will drive maximum commercial benefit to the company and working with stakeholders to deliver on this strategy; iii) communicating effectively opportunities and risks to the business due to changes in the industry and market environment; iv) analyzing and defining the aeronautical charging structure.</p> <p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p> <p>You will be educated to degree level (in a subject with significant numerical content).</p> <p><strong><u>Experience</u></strong></p> <p>Ideally you will have an in depth knowledge of all sectors of the aviation market and an excellent awareness of the industry and a full understanding of airport operations and capacity development from airspace and airfield through to terminal operations. Your experience should include at least six to eight years in a business intelligence role, with a significant amount of that time in the aviation sector (airline or co-ordinator experience would be a significant advantage). Proven data analysis skills<strong>. </strong>Proven experience in stakeholder management, especially at senior level<strong>. </strong>Strong influencing skills<strong>. </strong>Excellent financial awareness and business development experience. Proven ability to communicate data and information in a manner that is readily understood by a wide audience of varied experience.</p> <p><strong><u>Accountabilities </u></strong></p> <p><strong>Forecasting</strong></p> <p>Generation of high level, long term demand forecasts (base case and scenarios) using macroeconomic principles (unconstrained growth). Production of a detailed bottom up forecast that drives the commercial planning process, ensuring the forecast contains experience, knowledge and understanding of the wider business and market conditions. Translation of forecasts into schedules that can be used to feed simulation models – working closely with the Operational Research team.</p> <p><strong>Schedule Co-ordination</strong></p> <p>To define schedule objectives that are consistent with the growth and commercial objectives of the company and ensure these are clearly communicated to schedule coordinators.</p> <p><strong>Market Scenario Planning</strong></p> <p>Using insight to create market scenarios in addition to the base case. Work with stakeholders on business plans that capitalize on opportunities or mitigate risks to the business. Communicating the impact of scenarios across the business and influencing stakeholders to adopt the business plans.</p> <p><strong>Market Intelligence</strong></p> <p>Responsible for providing regular communication on market development activity at Dubai Airports.</p> <p><strong>Business Plan and Revenue Budget</strong></p> <p>Responsible for producing (and regularly reviewing) the aeronautical revenue budget for Dubai Airports.</p> <p>To provide traffic and revenue analysis and forecasts that will support defining charge changes that will ensure the business plan objectives of the company are met. Work with members of the team to analyse the benefit of commercial deals to attract new business.</p> <p> </p> <p>Stakeholder management is a key element of the role. You will be required to manage a wide range of stakeholder inputs into the master planning business development processes and therefore be a competent communicator at all organisation levels, including top management.</p> <p>This position has a direct impact on the investment choices, and therefore the development budget of Dubai Airports. Through targeting market efforts and influencing scheduling the role also has a direct impact on the revenue stream of the organization.
