<p><strong>Distribution Centre Manager - Sussex</strong><br /> <br /> Our client, a leading Aviation Chemical Management company, is currently recruiting for a Distribution Centre Manager role on a full time, permanent basis.<br /> <br /> The Distribution Centre Manager has overall responsibility for managing all Distribution Centre (DC) activities including but not limited to the processes for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, logistics and dispatch.<br /> <br /> <strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage the safe and efficient running of the Distribution Centre</li> <li>Ensure operations comply with regulations and manufacturer??s recommendations for managing, storing and shipping chemicals</li> <li>Manage inventory levels to meet on-time delivery requirements while minimising inventory costs</li> <li>Manage the appropriate storage and segregation of goods according to their hazardous status</li> <li>Carry out stock takes, snap checks and stock rotations as appropriate</li> <li>Ensure that Shelf Life Expiry (SLE) reports are produced and action is taken</li> <li>Action all Return Material Authorisations (RMA??s)</li> <li>Ensure all on-site facilities, lifting apparatus and vehicles are maintained to a high standard at all times.</li> <li>Manage safety and fire safety procedures; Ensure appropriate safety checks and documentation for stores apparatus including steps, spill kits, PPE, First Aid Kits, eye wash and fire safety equipment</li> <li>Ensure all measuring equipment including Tiny Tags and weighing scales are checked periodically and re-calibrated in accordance with manufacturer guidelines</li> <li>Review any changes regarding transportation</li> <li>Manage the handling and packaging of goods as per ADR, IMDG &amp; IATA, and the implementation of any changes</li> <li>Identify and manage work process improvement projects and cost reduction efforts</li> <li>Ensure appropriate investigation into any quality issues relating to non conforming products</li> <li>Manage expenses and budgets for DC operations</li> <li>Manage customer issues for sites served by the DC</li> <li>Any other tasks as requested by senior management</li> </ul> <p><br /> <strong>MANAGEMENT OF WAREHOUSE TEAM</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in the recruitment, selection and contracting of Warehouse staff as required to meet objectives</li> <li>Provide adequate staffing to support the out of hour??s service</li> <li>Train staff on all safety, regulatory and standard work processes including EHS requirements</li> <li>Manage employee relations and people related issues, including grievance and disciplinary issues as raised</li> <li>Manage performance of direct reports, conduct reviews and motivate and develop employees</li> <li>Maintain organised records relating the management of Warehouse employees</li> </ul> <p><br /> <strong>MANAGE COMPLIANCE WITH ALL OF THE APPROPRIATE REGULATIONS &amp; INSTRUCTIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Health &amp; Safety</li> <li>Environmental</li> <li>HGI Quality Manual</li> <li>HGI Procedures</li> <li>Terms of Reference</li> <li>Manual Handling</li> </ul> <p><br /> <strong>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree or equivalent third level qualification preferred (background in Chemicals preferable)</li> <li>5 years combined experience in distribution, inventory warehouse management or related field required</li> <li>Experience with Quality Management Systems</li> <li>Experience of Shipping Management</li> </ul> <p><br /> <br /> <strong>SKILLS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven leadership skills</li> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li> <li>Organised with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of managing effective procedures and processes</li> <li>Knowledge of inventory management systems and computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook)</li> </ul> <p><br /> To apply for this position, please send your CV to Sam Rice (sam@luap.com) today!</p>
