If you are a high performer, seeking unparalleled career opportunities, join the Emirates team and help us create the future of travel.<b> <br /> <br />The Position: </b>To manage, maintain and evaluate an effective humanitarian and logistical response that will embody a number of complex processes involving people and systems thus ensuring a robust Emirates response to a major accident or incident anywhere across our route network. </p><p> <br />1. Direct and offer guidance to the management and coordination of the humanitarian response which is deployed after an accident / serious incident affecting the Group, or at the request of a Codeshare or Mutual Agreement airline. To offer emotional and physical support to Persons Directly Affected whilst emulating the highest reputation of the company. <br />2. Manage and guide the development and maintenance of all policies and procedures manuals related to Family Assistance and Emergency Call Centre whilst benchmarking EK standards against other airlines and regulatory bodies to formulate subsequent upgrades of all manuals and SOPs. <br />3.Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Emergency Call Centre facility located in EGHQ and for liaison with other Global Connect Contact Centres used within the Corporate Response Procedures to ensure a constant state of readiness. <br />4. Manage and continually develop a training program for the humanitarian response which includes different levels of response and teams. This program should incorporate new technologies in a 'blended learning' approach to meet the strategic growth of the company utilising time and cost-effective methods and in keeping with regulatory requirements, industry trends and best practises. The training program will also have consideration and provision for Emirates? overseas humanitarian requirements based on the local capabilities. <br />5. Design, manage and continually update the exercise programme which will test all elements of the Humanitarian response to ensure a robust activation. Exercises will be both modular and full scale and will, as necessary include the involvement of internal and external parties. Ensure learning's are incorporated back into the program. <br />6. Manage and implement the recruitment, selection and retention programme for all humanitarian responders in order to build total responder numbers to the desired target to support the demographics of our customers. Ensure strong relationships are built and maintained with all levels of responders. <br />7. Assist Manager CRP to prepare budgetary projections based on growth of the organisation and services required which pertain to Family Assistance and Emergency Call Centre requirements. Manage and control the budget under Corporate Overheads, which provides for extraneous payments with reference to emergency hospitalisations and sudden death of passengers (in Dubai) when all other avenues to identify and locate external funds have been exhausted. <br />8. Manage the Humanitarian Response Specialists in their response to individual emergencies on a 24/7 basis for passengers (medically offloaded/ death on board cases) and provide close liaison with the Responder and other key stakeholders in the organization. This may include, but not be limited to the coordination of transportation, repatriation of human remains overseas, coordination of cremation/burial in UAE, liaison with embassies, accommodation, visas, travel arrangements, administration & paper work. <br /> <br /><b>Salary & Benefits: </b>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. It has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1= Dh3.66. By viewing the 'Dubai Lifestyle' section in the site you can also consider the benefits of Dubai as a location to live and work in. <br /> <br /> <br /><b>Experience and Qualifications:</b> </p><p>Degree or Honours (12 3 or equivalent) <br />8 years in Airport Services, Commercial, Operations or other relevant area of which at least 3 years should ideally be in the field of emergency planning. <br />Experience in delivering training programmes & presentations. <br />Experience in conducting emergency simulations and exercises <br />Experience in developing and implementing airport and departmental emergency procedures. <br />Working knowledge of Family Assistance programmes. <br />Working knowledge of Emergency Call Centre Management. <br />Information Technology literacy to a 'very good working knowledge' level required. <br />Relevant emergency manager certification - IATA, ICAO courses, Corporate/Government emergency planning courses or equivalent experience <br />Experience in influencing and lobbying with external/internal stakeholders <br /> <br /><b>To Apply:</b>To express your interest in the above vacancy please apply on-line by clicking below, and complete our application form.
