<img src="http://counter.adcourier.com/am9obnBhdWwuMzMzMDEuNDI0QHByb3RlY3RlY2huaWNhbC5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif" /><br />Design Planner Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire Hours 37.5 per week Salary: £market rates Overall Purpose of the Job To provide a capacity plan vs workload plan to enable effective scheduling and delivery of design tasks to customers To provide scheduling information and progress reporting of design tasking to the Head of Design and Design Principles KPIs Creation of planning tool/methods to allow efficient and effective reporting of design department plans and progress to meet project time and cost budgets Effective communication skills Ability to work with others Willingness and drive to develop and expand the planning function within the department to provide clear information to Design Department and it's management team Self motivation <br /><br /> Main Responsibilities<br /> This is a planning function within the expanding design office within our client<br /><br /> The main activities are: To research, identify, propose and implement planning/scheduling tools and methods within the design department To provide and update the departments annual workload and capacity plan to enable accurate scheduling of task and projects - highlighting any resource conflicts or scheduling issues To update and communicate the weekly plan, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly plan of design tasks and report any conflicts or slippage of tasks to planned schedule to the Design Principles and Head of Design To monitor man hour expenditure and bookings to design tasks against forecasted man hour consumption in order to report man hour progress against actual progress of design tasks. To compile and communicate clearly the man hour consumption of design tasks to the Head of Design and Design Office Principles To ensure accurate and correct booking of man hour tasks are undertaken by the design department team Liaise with the staff of the Installation, Planning and Flight Test departments in the resolution of Design specific schedules Assist in the overall aircraft program or programs Attend Project Review Meetings as required Attend Design review meetings as required. Support the department's objectives. Further develop his/her technical expertise and competence. Be or become the domain subject expert on workload, capacity and progress monitoring Be prepared and able to travel within the UK or overseas for short durations as required to support the role.
