<p><strong>Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in High Current / High Voltage Engineering</strong><br /> Cardiff School of Engineering<br /> <br /> You will deliver high-quality and research-led teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and contribute to the research record of the School through commitment to carrying out research leading to the publishing of work in high-quality journals. Moreover, you will achieve recognisable outputs in the areas of teaching, research, and industrial collaboration, commensurate with School’s norms, contribute to the enhancement of the national and international profile of the School and achieve recognisable impact upon the academic, commercial, and professional communities.<br /> <br /> You should have an established expertise and a proven portfolio of research in at least 2 of the following research fields:</p> <ul> <li>Lightning related research</li> <li>Characterisation of materials</li> <li>Electrical testing and modelling of aerospace materials under impulse conditions.</li> </ul> <p>You will be expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the success of the School and University by the achievement of recognisable outputs in the areas of teaching, research, and industrial collaboration, commensurate with School norms.</li> <li>Contribute to the enhancement of the national and international profile of the School and achieve recognisable impact upon the academic, commercial, and professional communities.</li> <li>Contribute to the research portfolio and further development of the “Institute of Energy” through the Morgan-Botti Lightning Laboratory research centre.</li> <li>Be responsible for developing the research theme: effect of lightning strikes on materials and components.</li> <li>Manage the activities of the Morgan-Botti Lightning Laboratory.</li> </ul> <p>Salary: (Grade 6) £30424 - £36298 per annum<br /> (Grade 7) £38522 - £44607 per annum<br /> (Grade 8) £45941 - £53233 per annum<br /> <br /> <strong>To work for an employer that values and promotes equality of opportunity, please click on the 'Apply now Button' and search for vacancy number 1061BR.</strong></p> <p><strong>Closing date: 15 July 2013.</strong></p>
