About this role

<p>Technical Author Mechanical Systems </p> <p>Our Technical Publications Department has an immediate opening for a Technical Author responsible for the preparation of the mechanical aspects of the technical publications required to support our single turbo-prop trainer aircraft fleet.</p> <p><strong>This challenging position involves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The production of descriptive, operation and procedural Data Modules and page blocks to ATA 100/iSpec 2200 and ASD S1000D and Mil-Spec specifications from engineering reports, drawings and general aircraft related documentation for the mechanical chapters of Pilatus technical publications</li> <li>The production of Service Bulletins, Letters, Field Service Instructions and other aircraft modification packages from initial drawings and engineering and production personnel input</li> <li>The production of draft illustrations and illustration production packages from drawings, photographs etc. to aid in the final preparation of artwork</li> <li>The discussion and agreement of maintenance procedures from a ¿hands on¿ perspective with the engineering, maintenance and production departments</li> <li>Ownership of documentation through to in-house or certification authority approval</li> <li>The provision of responses to customer/internal departments documentation queries</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>For this position you are required to have the following skills and background:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years experience as a technical author writing aircraft mechanical technical documentation to ATA 100/iSpec2200 and ASD S1000D specifications</li> <li>Aeronautical mechanical apprenticeship/formal training</li> <li>Experienced in the field of aviation through practical hands on</li> <li>Experienced in the use of ASD Simplified Technical English, SGML/XML, Microsoft Word, FrameMaker + SGML and Arbortext Editor</li> <li>Good sound knowledge of engineering drawing systems and general aircraft related documentation</li> <li>English mother tongue</li> </ul>
