About this role

<p>Serco are currently seeking a Procedure Design Specialist who will be required to develop and maintain a wide variety of visual and instrument flight procedures, carry out independent ground validations, prepare for and if requested participate in, flight validation of new or amended procedures.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities<br /> -Fight Instrument Procedure Design and maintenance in accordance with ICAO SARPS and quality control standards<br /> -Prepare AIM submissions related to Procedures design including charts and procedure coding.<br /> -Works with the ANS Quality System to ensure adherence to all regulatory and corporate requirements.<br /> -Pro-actively monitors international developments in the area of air navigation, relevant ICAO design standards and recommended practices and seeks ways for improving own and team performance.<br /> -Advise on airspace design, performance based navigation and other operational matters<br /> -Responsible for the design and maintenance of ICAO format Aeronautical Charts published in the AIP<br /> -Continued professional development in the fields of air navigation, PANS-OPS criteria and tools and methods for design and evaluation of flight procedures .<br /> -Ensures compliance with all safety and security standards at all times<br /> Desirable<br /> -Receive, check and enter aeronautical data received from internal and external users in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations, International Standards and the AIM Procedures manual. Validate data on entry, regularly check the data base for discrepancies.<br /> -Monitor and maintain the NOTAM database. Ensure monthly checklists are actioned. Maintain and ensure data integrity of the ARINC, EAD, e-TOD data and other authorised airport data which is imported into AIM system.</p> <p>Knowledge<br /> -Degree or technical qualification in an appropriate technical discipline and have successfully completed additional training in Quality Management.<br /> -Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable ICAO Standards and recommended practices<br /> -Understanding of mapping projections and basic geodesy. Ability to design and maintain aeronautical charts<br /> -Sound understanding of the principles of operation of modern ground, airborne, space based navigation systems and aircraft performance.</p> <p>Skills<br /> -Excellent written and verbal communication in English<br /> -CAD, MS Office and GIS software skills<br /> -Ability to work to deadlines<br /> -GCAA Certification or experience with a GCAA certified company desirable<br /> -Completed ICAO PANS-OPS course or equivalent instrument flight procedure design course</p> <p>Experience<br /> -Minimum 6 years` experience<br /> -Experience in flight operations either as a flight crew, ATC or performance engineer<br /> -Experience in design, development or validation of the instrument flight procedures, especially RNP AR and PBN flight procedures.</p>
