My client has a requirement for a Deputy Aircraft Projects Manager to start work in Cambridgeshire, UK.<br /><br />This position is due to be long term and could last up to 3 years, possibly longer.<br /><br />The successful candidate will work in an engineering team consisting of 5-6<br />people.<br /><br /> Reporting to: Aircraft Project Manager <br /><br />Position Summary;<br /><br />Working in an aircraft modification programme, the Deputy Aircraft Project Manager will report directly to the Aircraft Project Manager based in Cambridge, UK. We seek an Experienced Project Manager, ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, and with significant experience of large<br />aerospace development programs and processes.<br /><br />Responsibilities<br /><br /> Ensuring that assigned projects are planned and monitored to meet agreed budgets, schedule and performance over the project lifecycle which could include engineering, manufacturing, commercial, production and procurement.<br /><br />To facilitate the identification of project risks and to ensure that all such risks are managed.<br /><br />To be a key point of contact with internal team members, the aircraft modifier and other vendors.<br /><br /> Ensuring effective co-ordination of all project activity within the aircraft project and wider business as needed.<br /><br /> Vendor/Customer/partner/key supplier liaison and management.<br /><br />To prepare and give presentations both within the business and to external parties.<br /><br /> To ensure project management activity is carried out in accordance with company procedures.<br /><br />Travel to customers/suppliers locally or overseas, unsociable hours may at times be required.<br /><br /> Education / Certification Requirements:<br /><br /> A degree or equivalent in a relevant technical/engineering discipline.<br /><br />Exposure to Project Management training is desirable<br /><br /> Skills and Experience<br /><br /> Extensive experience within large aerospace development programmes<br /><br />Familiarity with project management and aerospace processes<br /><br /> A working knowledge of Microsoft Project and MS Office is essential.<br /><br />Personal competencies<br /><br /> Confident and diplomatic with an ability to create and foster working relationships internally in a diverse team and with external vendors at all levels of the business.<br /><br /> Self-motivated with the ability to produce accurate work under pressure while continuing to meet set deadlines.<br /><br /> A keen interest in aviation matters would be beneficial.
