Technical Standards Surveyor

We have a long and continuing record of working with the UK Industry to develop and enable better safety standards.</p> <p><strong>The role</strong><br /> Working within our applications hub technical section, you will assess and control the acceptance of applications for airworthiness certificates and organisation approvals.</p> <p>You will evaluate applications for both technical acceptability and compliance with National and EU requirements, provide technical and regulatory advice to individual applicants, the aviation industry and CAA staff, and develop new technical procedures and documentation to facilitate implementation of developing EU National legislation in the area of certification and continuing airworthiness of aircraft.</p> <p><strong>The ideal candidate</strong><br /> You will hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License or have appropriate hands-on practical experience of continued airworthiness control processes, including knowledge of aircraft type certification and modification approvals processes, EASA and ICAO standards and recommended practices. You will also require a thorough understanding of Air Navigation Order and EU regulations related to certification and continuing airworthiness. Knowledge of the EU/USA and EU/Canada Bi-lateral agreement, Technical Implementation Procedure would be a distinct advantage.</p> <p>Able to work well in a team or on your own initiative, you will also require the judgement to seek advice when necessary, possess excellent technical and non-technical communications skills at all levels and be able to interact effectively with major industry stakeholders.
