About this role
<p><strong>PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:</strong></p> <p><br /> To manage the day to day activities of Air Traffic Control: ensuring a customer focused and compliant service is delivered that meets with regulatory and legislative requirements in a safe and secure environment.</p> <p>To support the development of the long-term strategy for Air Traffic Control to ensure innovation, new technologies, new and emerging regulations are combined to ensure the delivery of an efficient, safe and compliant Air Traffic Control Service.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>ACOUNTABILITIES:</strong></p> <p><strong>1. Operations</strong></p> <p>1. To manage the operational delivery of ATC services.</p> <p>2. To accept responsibility and accountability for all service delivery standards regarding the performance of ATC related activities.</p> <p>3. In conjunction with other airside managers, to deliver a seamless customer experience across all NIAL airside activities.</p> <p>4. To ensure the ATC operation is effective and efficient, including managing change and improvement initiatives as appropriate.</p> <p>5. To ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the ATC operation is maintained, by keeping up with developments within the industry through implementing improvements to internal systems, procedures and policies as appropriate.</p> <p>6. To ensure that ATC personnel are equipped to deal with any extra-ordinary operational and emergency situations as required. (to include attendance at the Incident Command Centre)</p> <p><br /> 7. To work with business partners and operational departments to promote the development of a combined customer focused airside service; to include attending appropriate forums (e.g. Airline Technical Committee).</p> <p><strong>2. Communication</strong></p> <p>1. To liaise closely with other NIAL departments and business partners to ensure that all parties co-operate and work effectively together to enhance the customer experience, whilst acting in the best interests of the Company.</p> <p>2. To ensure that team members are kept up to date with department and organisation developments via the team brief process.</p> <p><strong>3. Leadership</strong></p> <p>1. To support the GMAO by leading and managing by example; ensuring staff are aware of the appropriate performance standards, the expected standards of behavior, and the expectations of our customers. </p> <p>2. To lead a progressive and innovative team within the ATC air traffic services support functions.</p> <p>3. To lead, motivate and inspire enthusiasm, by ensuring that all personnel fully contribute to the delivery of an effective airside operation that adds to the success of the business. </p> <p>4. To accept responsibility and accountability for staff review and appraisal schemes, effective absence management, and the return to work process following staff absence.</p> <p>5. To demonstrate innovation by developing and leading a continuous improvement culture amongst staff and the wider business.</p> <p><strong>4. Compliance</strong></p> <p>1. To ensure that the ATC has an effective safety management system that addresses all legislative requirements.</p> <p>2. To accept responsibility for promoting compliant health, safety and environmental behavior amongst staff, ensuring in particular that working practices minimise the risks to self, work colleagues, customers, staff and the environment.</p> <p>3. To ensure that staff employed within ATC are proficient in the application of NIA’s Business Continuity Plan.</p> <p>4. To develop and build relationships with business partners and the regulatory authorities to provide a seamless service to customers.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Requirements</strong>:<br /> Must Have a current ATC License with Aerodrome and Approach rating.<br /> Examiner and Instructor Certificate.<br /> Certificate of quality and safety management. </p> <p>Minimum 5 years of experience as ATC Manager or Senior ATCO.</p> <p>Good Coaching and Managerial Skills.</p> <p>Preference will be given to Native Speaking Candidates. UK, US, Australia and South Africa.</p>
