<p>Chief Engineer.</p> <p>Our Client in Germany requires a Chief Engineer for aero-thermal test vehicle design & make projects. Candidates require good knowledge and experience within Aero Engine / Gas Turbine Engineering, Design and Analysis, preferably with a focus on Engine Rigs.</p> <p>The Chief Engineer will overlook the whole project form planning stage up to entry into service technically and thus will be fully responsible to lead to a balanced approach (risk vs. cost) achieving the technical requirements specified by the customer (in the Statement of Work) within the constraints of time and cost.</p> <p>In this role the Chief Engineer has to support the lead designer to make the appropriate decisions on all technical solutions and the basic Rig architecture. The chief engineer covers in this function all technical areas, but a strong focus will be on design, analysis and manufacturing technology. The Chief Engineer is in charge until the successful commissioning of the test vehicle.</p> <p>The role is equipped with the authority and reporting line such that internal review findings can be enforced within our Client’s project steering review board. The Chief Engineer will exercise independent technical judgement trading technical requirements of all technical disciplines (Design, Analysis, Build, Manufacturing, Instrumentation application, Test team,...) against cost & time scales to achieve a balanced approach.</p> <p>The Chief Engineer will be one of the internal change control board and support the Program Manager directly with all technical issues internally and in discussions with the customer.</p> <p>In order to speed up communication and to clarify technical details directly, the chief is in direct contact with the customer and all relevant internal team. The communication between the project manager and the chief engineer is ensured by locating them directly side by side in the same office.</p> <p>Whilst the project manager is ensuring the entire project lead (lead time, budget and quality requirements as well as team leadership), the chief engineer will focus on ensuring the fulfilment of the specification by appropriate technical solutions. In case of technical conflicts, the chief engineer is authorized to make decisions accordingly.</p> <p>Candidates must hold the right to live and work in Germany. This position may be offered on either a contract or permanent basis.</p>
