<p>DESIGN ENGINEER (Rapid Response) - N Ireland&nbsp;</p> <p>My Client in Co Down, Northern Ireland requires an experienced Design&nbsp;Engineer to support new and on-going Aerospace projects.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong></p> <p>The job holder will work as part of the design team in support of production and assembly operations, solving engineering issues in an effective and timely way.</p> <p><strong>PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p>Design, create and make updates to 2D and 3D Parametric Models, and associated drawings, using the master model approach in Unigraphics (NX7). Write ECN’s and correct engineering data in the form of models, drawing and Bill of materials. Maximise DFM/DFA opportunities during the design process. Assist with and implement design improvements in the design process in line with the continuous improvement culture within the team Ensure deliverables are met and compliance with specifications and requirements. Support production with the introduction of new products and launch issues. Develop and ensure the accuracy of engineering Bill of Materials (BoMs) Build effective relationships with internal and external customers &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>THE PERSON</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Key Attributes</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong>&nbsp;recognised subject matter expert in their field or discipline. <strong>Results and Execution:</strong>&nbsp;consistently delivers against goals and objectives through managing risk and monitoring progress. <strong>Problem Solving and Decision Making:</strong>&nbsp;make quality business decisions based on facts and implement effective corrective &amp; preventative actions which are in line with business requirements. <strong>Project Management and Organisational Skills:&nbsp;</strong>planning and supervision skills to appropriately organize resources to meet team or project deadlines. <strong>Communication Skills:</strong>&nbsp;excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to forge strong working relationships, influence and ensure buy-in at all levels to deliver program and strategic objectives. <strong>Business Acumen:&nbsp;</strong>interprets financial data and proposes initiatives / projects that achieve new levels of business performance. &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA</strong></p> <p>A&nbsp; third level qualification in engineering or a related discipline. Experience of 3D parametric modelling Drafting experience&nbsp; Fluent written and verbal English language skills.&nbsp; EU member Passport holder. &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>DESIRABLE CRITERIA</strong></p> <p>2+ years industrial experience in a relevant role Experience in a manufacturing environment Relevant experience in the following: Developing and structuring Bills of Material (BoMs) Design for Manufacture and Design For Assembly (DFM/DFA) Unigraphics (NX) CAD system.</p>
