About this role

<p>The ANS Inspector carries out certifications, inspections and surveillance (oversight) to ensure compliance with established aviation regulations and standards. They will assist in the process of developing safety standards covering the areas of ATS services to ensure that all safety standards, processes and procedures adhere to national regulations and international standards and recommended practices<br /> Tasks designated to the position include the following:<br /> -Ensure that all certifications/approvals and audits are managed effectively in line with stipulated guidelines.<br /> -Provide inputs into the process of developing the annual oversight program to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.<br /> -Conduct aviation safety-related investigations, coordinating where operational issues are relevant in order to determine the cause of accidents and prevent future incidents.<br /> -Participate in regular external operations meetings related to ANS to facilitate stakeholder collaboration and to maintain an open channel of communication.<br /> -Review ANSP equipment testing and monitoring processes and procedures to ensure an appropriate level of integrity, continuity of service and maintenance of safety.<br /> -Implement corrective actions raised against the Authority during internal oversight programs to ascertain alignment of safety standards with international standards and continuous improvements.<br /> -Support the administration of all auditing activities by external entities including ICAO and IMS to ensure smooth and productive auditing.<br /> -Maintain a comprehensive record of relevant certification, reports, recommendations and general documents to ensure an accurate database.<br /> -Provide input into the identification of Acceptable Levels of Safety Performance (ALOSP) to ensure appropriate and achievable targets are set.<br /> -Improve and promote safety promotion activities to disseminate and nurture a safety awareness culture in the Bahrain civil aviation industry and to keep industry players abreast of changes to relevant rules, regulations and other aviation developments.<br /> -Provide advice and guidance to the aviation sector, sharing best practice, trends and other findings of reviews, studies and investigations to prevent future occurrences/incidents/accidents.<br /> -Assist in maintaining on-going liaison with foreign and international aviation regulatory bodies on new requirements and changes to existing safety regulations to foster the safe and orderly growth of Bahrain civil aviation.<br /> -Assist in the implementation of safety policies, systems, processes and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality safety services to the Bahrain civil aviation industry in accordance with customer services standards.<br /> -Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS standards.<br /> -Participate in continuous improvement programmes to enhance existing systems and processes to ensure alignment with Bahrain CAA`s objectives.<br /> -Contribute towards the preparation of reports to ensure accuracy, delivery and compliance with safety objectives/commitments.</p> <p>Knowledge<br /> -Good knowledge of relevant ICAO documentation, in particular Annex 2, Annex 11,<br /> Doc 4444, Doc 9859 and familiarity with JARS and FARS.<br /> -Extensive knowledge of specific regulatory area of specialism.</p> <p>Skills<br /> -Ability to prepare reports and when required, present these to the client.<br /> -Ability to develop, maintain a simulator training program.<br /> -Ability to monitor deadlines and performance in-line with required standards.<br /> -A mature, proactive and responsible approach to work with initiative and problem solving capability.<br /> -Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills.<br /> -Flexibility, excellent attention to detail, ability to identify key issues and manage an environment of regular change.<br /> -Ability to think strategically, execute quickly and adjust plans to meet organisational needs.<br /> -Able to hold sensitive and confidential materials in strict confidence.<br /> -Able to work independently under stringent deadlines and in a high pressure environment.<br /> -Function as a resourceful and proactive team member.<br /> -Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet tight deadlines and schedules.<br /> -Strong analytical skills; ability to work with complex issues and detailed information.<br /> -Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.<br /> -Good judgment and decision-making skills.<br /> -Adapt well to changing priorities.<br /> -An assertive completer / finisher with high level personal presence and credibility.<br /> -Intuitive with outstanding interpersonal influencing and communication skills; able to develop and motivate others.<br /> -Ability to align strategic and operational needs with training programs and organizational development efforts.<br /> -Ability to see problems as opportunities and to manage well under pressure.<br /> -Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and convey complex information in an easily understood format.<br /> -In-depth ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approach to problems.<br /> Experience<br /> -University degree in relevant aviation discipline with a specialization in aviation safety management (preferred)<br /> -Licensed Air Traffic Controller with a minimum of 8 years operational experience.<br /> -Experience working in a regulatory environment with an aviation safety or inspection role. (Preferred)<br /> -Specialized training in safety management systems and quality management systems.<br /> -Must have attended a recognized Auditing/Inspection Techniques Course.<br /> -Experience in a multi-cultural environment an asset.<br /> -Middle East experiences an asset.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
