About this role

<p>Major Chinese civil aircraft company are seeking a range of experienced aircraft design/development specialists to join their expanding design office in California. This will be on the design and certification of new commercial aircraft development programmes. The focus of the work will include optimisation, bird strike, certification and general design engineering activities.<br /> <br /> General duties for engineers will include: design and analysis, documentation and testing, project coordination and problem resolution and project reporting. You will need to be able to work autonomously but will also be involved in the training of engineers (including Chinese seconded staff).<br /> <br /> They have a specific need for Senior Structural Design Engineers with considerable experience in the design of airframe and aicraft structures, including using 3D CAD systems (e.g. Catia, Unigraphics). Skills and Experience of interest includes:<br /> * Primary and secondary metallic airframe structural design<br /> * Composite material design for primary structure<br /> * Design of components including: Skins / Stringers, Frames, Floor structure, Pressure Bulkheads / Pressure Floors, Door surround structure, Wing to Body fairings.<br /> * Ability to produce conceptual designs / modifications of major structural work packages<br /> * Familiar with aircraft materials, process specifications related to structural design.<br /> * Familiar with detail design of sheet metal / machined components, again composite experience would be an asset.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> They are looking recruit from now until December 2014 and for these positions you will need to have the current right to work in the USA, as they are not in a position to apply for work permits/visas.</p>
