Project Manager – E-Capabilities

<p><strong><u>Job Purpose:</u></strong></p> <p>We will require the right candidate to be responsible in supporting &amp; developing and also manage all the next generation avionics Equipment Selection for new aircraft definition &amp; retrofit modification. You will develop &amp; ensure approved Company procedures in place for e-Capabilities in Qatar Airways with newest cost effective technology available that meets a high quality of standard for the 5 star Airline requirements.</p> <p><strong><u>Job Requirements:</u></strong></p> <p>The ideal candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>act as a lead specialist to provide guidance to Project Engineering team on e-capabilities technical matters and resolve complex technical issues</li> <li>provide Engineering Support and development activities for development of company procedures &amp; updating accordingly based on Technological advancement in the industry for Qatar Airways aircraft fleet.</li> <li>have the responsibility of effective supervision of all personnel, management of technical, legal, airworthiness issues and economic activities within their respective scope of duties.</li> <li>be able to supervise assigned personnel to further develop and improve the quality of the performance of the company.</li> <li>assist in monitoring the implementation of e-capabilities Project control procedures &amp; time lines</li> <li>be interactive in the development and documentation of the internal organization for e-capabilities procedures.</li> <li>ensure compliance of e-capabilities procedures / requirements with all legal, official and safety regulations, as well as internal and external requirements in their respective field.</li> <li>be able to lead a team of Avionics/ e-capabilities Project Engineers and provide instruction and guidance to perform their duties in their respective areas across the fleet</li> <li>evaluate all technical and commercial proposals received against RFPs &amp; RFQs for e-capabilities aircraft systems requirements &amp; for selection.</li> <li>assist VPT-Aircraft Programs during negotiation and finalization to obtain the best technical and commercial solution to meet the company requirements.</li> <li>recommend aircraft definition specifications for OEM selectable options for e-capabilities requirements such as SFE or STANDARD SELECTION OPTIONS during the aircraft definition process for Qatar Airways management consideration</li> <li>analyse and evaluate information and draws appropriate conclusions</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>You must be capable and comfortable in communicating with Aircraft manufactures and vendors on all aircraft project definition on avionics for e-capabilities solutions, as required from time to time and also assist in Perform project management functions for e-capabilities requirements.</p> <p><strong><u>Qualifications Required: </u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent</li> <li>Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field from a recognized university</li> </ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Aircraft Engineer with at least 8 years’ experience as a certifying staff</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Essential:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Expert - minimum 7 years of job-related experience required</li> <li>Minimum eight (8) years working experience from the major Airline/MRO or Aviation industry as a Development or Technical Services Engineer</li> <li>Minimum 5 years’ experience of managing special projects</li> <li>Good knowledge of Aeronautical regulations and requirements.</li> <li>Knowledge of aircraft systems, preferable training on one or several types of aircraft operated by QTR.</li> <li>Experience in usage of Airman, Airbus World, My Boeing Fleet, Airplane Health Management, Maintenance Performance Toolbox will be an advantage</li> <li>Fluent in English language, both written and oral</li> <li>Must be able to perform and think clearly in high pressure and technically complex situations in a 24/7 business and be able to make critical decisions using available information and personal knowledge, experience and judgement</li> <li>Managerial skills. The ability to delegate work and set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills.
