About this role
<ul> <li>Direct the movement of aircraft within an assigned air space and to provide a safe, orderly and expeditious air traffic service</li> <li>Prevent collisions between aircraft </li> <li>Ensure self-briefing on latest TIs, SIs and weather information, including attendance at daily pre shift briefings</li> <li>Coordinate with DXB, SHJ and DWC towers to provide best sequence of inbound and outbound aircraft within the CTA</li> <li>Ensure standard separation between all inbound and outbound aircraft in accordance with applicable rules, regulations and unit procedures</li> <li>Provide flight information service to aircraft operating in the air traffic control zone and issue IFR/VFR clearances to pilots</li> <li>Provide flow control and slot allocation to departing aircraft</li> <li>Ensure current flight plans are up to date and update delays as required</li> <li>Provide weather information to pilots</li> <li>Advise the MET office of significant weather changes</li> <li>Monitor aerodrome and approach equipment to ensure serviceability</li> <li>Provide alerting service for aircraft in emergency and notify appropriate organizations regarding aircraft in need of search and rescue aid, and assist such organizations as required</li> <li>Prepare ROSI (report of the safety incidents) according with reporting procedure for incidents, accidents or safety related occurrences</li> <li>Coordinate traffic with adjacent units</li> <li>Follow all procedures as laid out through Doc4444.4, CARS and DMATS, including any SI’s, TI’s, Ops Bulletins or Safety Notices.</li> <li>Awareness of the Integrated Management System and the content of the Environment, Quality, Health & Safety and Information Security Policy Statements;</li> <li>Understanding of personal responsibilities and contribution to achieving compliance with the Integrated Management System requirements,(including but not limited to competence to perform safety critical roles, legal requirements, control measures arisen from environmental impacts and aspects, job safety analysis and information security risk assessment) and the potential consequences of departure from the arrangements in place to deliver the commitments stated in the policies statements above;</li> <li>To exercise a personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omissions</li> <li>To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and intended and observe that this is also enforced among subcontractors and third parties working in Serco’s controlled premises/systems</li> <li>Promote a good HSQE and Information Security culture among their peers, subcontractors and third parties;</li> <li>Lead by example and look at ways to conserve energy, water and resources and minimize the generation of waste through personal performance and raise recommendations on how to improve existing processes on this regard within/outside their departments through their Line Manager, Departmental Safety Meetings and any other appropriate available channels;</li> <li>Protect information assets and data including both electronic and paper based from all threats whether internal, external, deliberate or accidental;</li> <li>Promote a good HSQE and Information Security culture among their peers, subcontractors and third parties.</li> </ul>
