<p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Material Management and Supplier Support team, ensuring that it is a commercially astute and service orientated organisation which delivers the highest level of cost effective support to its internal customers.</p> <p>They will develop strategies for engine, component and general aircraft spares and repair, such that EK is protected technically and commercially. Provide leadership, strategy and direction for the development of repair capability in-house and/or locally by suppliers in the Middle East region. Lead the introduction of new processes and technology to improve inventory/asset management and to streamline logistics activities.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible to ensure that the overall material service level delivered to the primary operational departments of Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Powerplant Shop, Component Workshops and Flight Simulators is consistently above 95%. This must be achieved by accurate forecasting and pro-active control of inventory in order to avoid unnecessary spend / inventory growth and protect against premature obsolescence / redundant stock piling.</li> <li>Constantly drive initiatives that yield tangible reductions in inventory held per hull for our growing fleets of 777 and A380. This to be done by a combination of short term tactical activities and longer term strategic measures.</li> <li>Lead activities to hold suppliers accountable to their contractual deliverables and commitments in respect of material support (‘Supplier Support’). Set priorities, vision and values and communicate plans/ targets to supplier stakeholders to gain their ‘buy in’. Influence/manage at senior level of the Suppliers to overcome barriers to progress.</li> <li>Establish and control the capital cost budget for spare engines, nacelles, component and tool/equipment assets, and direct maintenance cost budget relating to material consumption, power plant repairs, component repairs, logistics, material and supplier support manpower and facility. Set targets for spend, review KPIs regularly and ensure no significant variances are left unaddressed.</li> <li>Maintain a wide network of internal and external contacts, including aircraft / engine manufacturers, suppliers and other airlines in order to secure good material support is obtained across the network. Use these contacts to leverage extra help when in times of AOG / emergency situations.</li> <li>Responsible to lead and drive the overall strategy for business development of the component repair capabilities of EK Engineering and suppliers in Dubai, from both strategic and operational support perspectives. Analyse and implement alternative options which could include Joint Ventures and partnerships where appropriate.</li> <li>Through the use of technology and process improvement, make significant enhancements to the Warehousing and Logistics functions such that they cope with the rapid growth in transaction volume and geographic growth of the network.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications & Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics, preferably with post graduate business qualification and /or aircraft maintenance engineer’s license.</li> <li>15 years’ experience in aircraft engineering and maintenance, with a significant proportion at a management level in Material Management and / or Supplier Support Management.</li> <li>Proven track record of leading change management</li> <li>Proven track record in leading a large, multi-disciplinary team</li> <li>Experience of managing teams in a diverse multi -cultural environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary & Benefits:</strong></p> <p>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE.
