Vice President Catering Operations

<p><strong>Job Purpose:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;Your will have business responsibility for dnata’s portfolio of international catering operations outside the UAE and for identifying and executing opportunities to further develop dnata’s international catering operations to fulfil dnata’s mission to be the world’s most admired air services company.</p> <p>Whilst the CEOs of each business will be responsible for the day-to-day operational, commercial and profit responsibility of each company, they will report to you and you in turn will oversee and proactively take action to maximise the business performance and strategic development of each business, utilising synergies between businesses to increase effectiveness and efficiency.</p> <p><strong>The primary responsibilities for the role are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Working closely with the CEOs to monitor and maximise the financial and operational performance of each company based on their long term strategic objectives. Specific responsibilities includes involvement in all key decisions including key commercial contracts, capital expenditure, appointment of senior management, major operational decisions, pay recommendations, budgeting and long-term planning.</li> <li>Ensure proper oversight, monitoring and governance of each company. Establish a regular reporting mechanism to ensure there is a timely and consistent monitoring of operational, safety and financial performance across each of dnata’s catering operations.&nbsp; Set KPIs for service performance and ensure that these KPIs are met consistently by each business. The job holder will intervene where required including troubleshooting, facilitation, identification of business issues and corrective actions and ongoing performance management.</li> <li>Develop and implement processes and an environment which will allow dnata to maximise the operational and commercial synergies across the various companies.&nbsp; This should include an exchange of best practices to ensure dnata develops best of breed across its companies.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead the due diligence process (operational. financial and legal) and preparation of a business case that generates an adequate return on capital investment. Formulation of a business strategy to manage new potential investment in order to maximise shareholder value and operational integrity.</li> <li>Provide interface with dnata and Emirates to ensure the potential intra-Group synergies are maximised.&nbsp; Ensure corporate strategy and direction of each business is consistent and compatible with dnata’s overall vision, mission and values.</li> <li>Interface between the CEO and the Board of Directors to ensure that there is appropriate level of review on all major business decisions in a way which ensures that the CEO and his management team have adequate flexibility and authority to manage the business in the most effective way, while ensuring that there is sufficient oversight by the Board to ensure that the interests of dnata (as shareholder) are secured.</li> <li>Liaise with relevant airport authorities, other shareholders and other business partners to ensure their full support for the strategic direction taken by each business and to ensure their compatibility with the interests of dnata as shareholder.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Honours Degree (12+3 or equivalent) or catering qualification.</li> <li>12 + years, of experience in a large catering organisation.</li> <li>Proven track record of managing overall business profitability and delivering profit improvement.</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of all aspects of airline catering operations, as well as strong business acumen to oversee all aspects of each company's business.</li> <li>Must have a good understanding of all business disciplines including people management, finance, marketing, sales and IT.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><br /> <br /> <strong>Salary &amp; Benefits:</strong></p> <p>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE.
