<p>Aeroprofessional are delighted to announce that on behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Director of Flight Operations.</p> <p>Our Client has a multinational work force comprising over 30 nationalities but they also have a strong focus on developing local talent for their fleet of wide-body aircraft. All team members are professionally qualified, high calibre individuals working within a strong team ethic.</p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer. As a member of the Senior Management team, the Director of Flight Operations is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operational requirements are in place to support the strategic objectives of the Airline. The Director of Flight Operations ensures that the organization is well positioned operationally with the right people and processes to support the organization’s growth and actively contributes to the strategic plan of the business. This role is vital in setting the tone for the organization and helping shape the company culture through the incumbents’ leadership style.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible as a designated Post-holder tasked to maintain applicable requirements of the Air Operators Certificate (AOC).</li> <li>Insure the airline’s compliance in all aspects of Flight Operations as required by the regulatory authorities.</li> <li>Responsible for developing, hiring, and monitoring Flight Operations management personnel. This includes: Deputy Director, Flight Operations, Sr. Manager, In-flight Services, Manager, Crew Scheduling, Chief Pilot, Head of Training and Director, Operations Control Center.</li> <li>Develop and maintain proper policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.</li> <li>Contribute to ongoing development of the company’s business strategy.</li> <li>Prepare and manage the Flight Operations budget to ensure efficient and cost effective operations.</li> <li>Control the Company Operations Manual Suite.</li> <li>Satisfy network requirements and provide a safe operation through direct reports, provision of aircraft, crews and support functions.</li> <li>Ensure all incidents, accidents and occurrence reports relating to Flight Operations are communicated to the Authority and all other appropriate persons or organizations.</li> <li>Co-ordinate wet leasing and company charter operations</li> <li>Establish aerodrome operating minima in accordance with local authority regulation requirements for each aerodrome listed in Part C.</li> <li>Participate in risk assessments on new and existing operations.</li> <li>Provide management reports on a regular basis, or special reports when requested.</li> <li>Develop and maintain a staffing plan to meet the company’s commercial and strategic goals in coordination with crew scheduling.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Characteristics:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Self-Starter</li> <li>Passionate</li> <li>Teacher</li> <li>Motivator</li> <li>Integrity</li> <li>Clear Communicator</li> <li>Negotiator</li> <li>Process oriented</li> <li>Fully Approachable</li> <li>Leader</li> <li>Well Connected </li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have experience in the commercial airline industry, including leadership roles preferably within flight operations departments.</li> <li>Must have or held an ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License), preferably in wide body international commercial operations.</li> <li>Previous employment in an EASA regulatory environment is necessary. </li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of civil aviation regulations, regulatory frameworks, including International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS).</li> <li>Previous experience in a post holder role is preferable.</li> <li>Previous experience developing and managing departmental budgets.</li> </ul> <p>This position is a Permanent Direct Hire</p>
