Located at its airport HQ in Cambridge, plus with offices in Australia, Canada and Netherlands they are perfectly placed at the forefront of today's Aerospace industry. <br /> Due to a period of growth they are seeking to appoint a Head of Avionic &amp; Electrical Systems to join their operation based in rural Cambridgeshire. <br /> <br /> <br /> <strong>Vacancy Details</strong> <br /> <br /> An opportunity has arisen to join our client as Head of the Avionic and Electrical Systems Department in the Engineering Division based in Cambridge. <br /> <br /> The role of the department is to ensure the successful integration of often complex avionic systems into legacy aircraft. We manage the whole engineering lifecycle from requirements capture, concept design, detail design, liaising with manufacturing and installation, assisting with test, collecting verification evidence and proving technical and regulatory compliance for the aircraft modifications we design. We also make a significant contribution to ongoing business development &amp; marketing. <br /> <br /> This senior functional role is to ensure the success of the department through technical expertise, guidance, quality assurance and continuous improvement. This includes leading of a team of avionic systems engineers who are typically involved from bidding through preliminary and detail design and also leading a group of production engineers who design electrical cable harnesses using Mentor Graphics Capital Harness and electrical parts installation design in AutoCAD and CatiaV5. The role also incorporates ownership of the department's working practices and policies. <br /> <br /> The successful candidate will be expected to be capable of holding engineering "check" signatory and "approve" signatory for the complete avionics and electrical system lifecycle function within Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, including estimating, technical and certification requirements capture, interface control definition, installation drawings, technical reports, test procedures, technical publications and verification reports etc. The successful candidate can be expected to chair design reviews for avionics and electrical projects and be the go to person for all matters avionic, electrical, airborne hardware and software. <br /> <br /> A degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline is expected, as is professional accreditation and membership of an appropriate engineering institute. <br /> <br /> Importantly, the candidate must be able to evidence strong leadership skills and be fully committed to Customer Service, Innovation and Creativity, Integrity and Fairness and People being at the heart of our success. <br /> <br /> <strong>About Aeropeople</strong> <br /> Aeropeople are a leading dedicated Aerospace and Autosport technical services provider specialising in the recruitment of permanent and temporary staff.
