We will earn your commitment, offering you a unique opportunity to play a crucial part in a pioneering service that is working to deliver unparalleled support to the RAF and UK armed forces.<br /> <br /> Joining AirTanker could be the best decision you ever make. &nbsp;<br /> <br /> We are currently recruiting for a <strong>Head of Material and Logistics. &nbsp;</strong><br /> <br /> <strong>Primary Job Purpose</strong><br /> Responsible for the overall management and provision of AirTanker Services Material and Logistics support, including the management of those Primary Sub-Contractors who deliver the direct aircraft support solution.<br /> <br /> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the development and execution of the AirTanker Services material and logistics strategy.</li> <li>Overall responsibility for the day to day tactical management of the material and logistics solutions in support of the AirTanker Services customer operations.</li> <li>Be responsible for the management of those Primary Sub-Contractors who deliver the direct aircraft support solution, being AiM, Rolls Royce, Thales, CME and the MT/GSE element of Babcock.</li> <li>Be responsible for delivering the Engineering Directorate’s planning and support to Voyager Deployments.</li> <li>Be responsible for the production and on-going management of the Material &amp; Logistics Support departmental procedures in support of the company’s EASA Part 145 approval.</li> <li>Establish and maintain effective stock control procedures for both AirTanker Services owned material and Principal Sub-Contractor supplied materials held at the MOB and DOB as required.</li> <li>Be responsible for the day to day management and supervision of a mixed team of military and civilian logistics staff.</li> <li>Ensure that all material is correctly received, stored, handled, packaged and issued in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Be responsible for the stock management and maintaining accurate records of material transactions utilizing the Company IT system.</li> <li>Ensure simple and aligned process flows are in place for all materials management and fully exploit the Company IT system functionality.</li> <li>Ensure support to the Operation during routine and non-routine maintenance activities, including AOG / ADD shortage material expedition and AOG material purchasing.</li> <li>Be responsible for producing and delivering material pre-loads in support of line and base maintenance.</li> <li>Be responsible for the establishment and control of fly Away Packs (FAP) for DOB support.</li> <li>Be responsible for the procurement of aircraft and other parts only from sources approved in accordance with the requirements of Part 145 and approved company procedures.</li> <li>Be responsible for managing and maintaining a restricted bonded store area in accordance with the company’s EASA Part 145 approval.</li> <li>Be responsible for managing and maintaining a restricted military equipment storage facility and associated procedures for handling restricted military materials.</li> <li>Ensure all material dispatched is accompanied by the correct documentation.</li> <li>Be responsible for maintaining and managing aircraft maintenance tooling and tooling control procedures, including repair and calibration.</li> <li>Be responsible for managing interfaces with MoD supply chains (Purple Gate) for the provision of down route material / logistic support.</li> <li>Be personally responsible for delivering a safe service in all facets of the role in line with the requirements of the AirTanker Services SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.&nbsp; Also ensure that those employees reporting to this post are briefed in these systems, are aware of the company safety and quality policies and the hazard analyses applicable to their tasking.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrable experience in managing an operational material and logistics system within a Part 145 environment.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience in managing a busy aircraft material storage facility, including the handling of extensive vendor supplied stocks.</li> <li>Experience in Aircraft parts related purchasing.</li> <li>Experience in the production of material handling and logistics procedures in support of a Part 145 operation.</li> <li>Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning IT systems.</li> <li>Experience in MoD supply chain environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Information</strong><br /> Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of AirTanker Services are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application we would support you with the SC process.
