About this role
<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p> <p>Responsible for the overall management of the Maintenance Training Devices (MTD) /MTD 2D software/System Based Trainer (SBT) and Computer Based Training (CBT). The job involves complex fault rectification and updates to the overall performance of Emirates fleet devices to ensure the MTDs are fully functional and satisfy the current Emirates; General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA); European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) & Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) requirements.</p> <p><strong>Job Outline: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Evaluate the hardware/software status of the MTD/ MTD 2D/SBT and CBT in view of the constantly updating operating system. Ensure that the training devices are configured to the current aircraft configuration. Recommend software and hardware updates to Manager Engineering Training & Engineering Training Examination Manager (ETEM) for a possible upgrade. Upload the current Air Navigation (AIRNAV)/Flight Operating Crew Training (FOCT) and NAV database software into the device ensuring that system trainers & MTDs are fully functional and satisfy the current Emirates/GCAA/EASA/FAA requirements.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Perform all maintenance action including trouble shooting; repair; overhaul; adjustment; maintenance; calibration; testing; inspection; and modification in order to maintain the equipment in optimum operating condition and ensure that it is fully functional. Ensure availability of the MTD/ MTD 2D /SBT and CBT at all times by carrying out tests prior to start and after completion of each training session.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Utilize a maintenance management system to record and track all maintenance activities and keep an updated record for maintenance carried out. Accountable for updating the ETEM by providing a weekly performance report of all devices highlighting any discrepancies/faults and liaising with vendors/external agencies to resolve complex faults or to procure spares.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Engineering preferably electronics, electrical, software or Mechatronics</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ yrs Professional experience within the simulation and training equipment industry.</li> </ul> <p><br /> <strong>Knowledge/skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in civil military simulation projects or experience in software project coordination and software programming will be an advantage</li> <li>Hands on experience of working on circuit boards at component level.</li> <li>Conversant with computer based simulation devices</li> <li>Training on solid state devices</li> <li>Conversant with operating systems including Linux and Windows</li> <li>Safety Sensitive Role: No</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary & Benefits:</strong></p> <p>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE.
