About this role

<p>We are extremely pleased to be supporting an established airline based in southern UK with their recruitment of an Aircraft Performance Engineer for a 6-9 month contract. This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking airline with the potential to be offered a permanent positon at the end of the contract.&nbsp;</p> <p>You will be required to provide aircraft performance support to the airline to enable safe and efficient operations of the airline fleet. You will be responsible for ensuring that aircraft performance is maximised for safe and efficient aircraft operations.&nbsp;</p> <p>Key aspects of the role include:</p> <p>•&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Producing take-off data for use in the evaluation of new routes and airports<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Monitoring emergency turnaround and aerodrome operating data, as well as ensuring that the flight planning system is updated with revised aircraft performance information.&nbsp;</p> <p>You will need to have experience with the following:</p> <p>•&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Knowledge/experience of aircraft performance and performance regulations&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Familiarity with performance regulations<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Familiarity with Boeing aircraft performance&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Significant experience with Boeing Software (OPT (windows &amp; iOS), BPS &amp; PET)<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Experience in driftdown and decompression procedures<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Familiar with performance/payload queries<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Familiar with aircraft performance submissions for special approvals<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Knowledge &amp; experience of aeronautical data and publications and familiarity with the airline environment and aeronautical authorities and agencies&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Previous knowledge of aircraft Weight &amp; Balance characteristics &nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Statistical and Process analysis skills&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Awareness of impact of role on aircraft and airline safety&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Advanced IT skills and ability to learn specialist software applications/systems&nbsp;</p> <p>Further aspects of the role include monitoring the seasonal and ad-hoc flying programme, ensuring any new destinations and alternatives are added into the performance program airport database, maintaining Jeppesen pages, constructing and monitoring decompression procedures in accordance with EASA regulations for areas of operation in high terrain and acting as a support to the technical flight support team, ensuring continuity of safety related activities when required. &nbsp;</p> <p>You will need to be available on short notice to start this position.
